Default What are these strange streaks? (picture attached)

Whenever I drive more than 50 miles I get these strange streaks on my rocker panel. They are only on the drivers side. Right behind the front wheel. I can't tell where it is coming from. I don't see any liquid dripping. I just had the car on the lift and looked all around. And couldn't find anything out of order.

Anybody here know what this is and where it comes from?

Some say washer fluid.
Some say AC condensation off the front.

When you say 'some say'. Does that mean others have seen the same streaks? Is this a common thing with the 991?

I never run washer fluid and get them too. Believe there is a condensation hose for AC somewhere there and water runs sideways?

Thanks for the link LexVan, and I enjoyed your 'nun'. Too funny. I'll inspect the washer fluid reservoir and lines.

It's washer fluid.
After returning from my first drive I noticed the same streaks. I called the dealerships service manager and asked why my brand new GTS had fluid leaking down the bottom of the drivers side fender/rocker panel. He immediately knew what it was. He told me to make sure the washer fluid cap was closed and then cycle the washer fluid a few times to lower the fluid level.
I did that and it has never returned.

you are not alone. The last time my car saw water was when I squirted the washer 800 miles ago but this water streak thing still happens.

Funny thing. After grabbing my starbucks this morning and walking towards my car I noticed the same thing on drivers side. I thought maybe it was something off the wheels. Reading the above threads, I did use the washer fluid more then usual last couple of days but I also used the AC more then normal (driving with windows down is not healthy as we have smoke from forest fires).

Thanks for sharing this bit of info. I'm going to give that a try!

Glad to report Brian E is right. After lowering the washer fluid level it doesn't happen again.

I get the same thing whenever driving hard (track day, Autocross, etc) and my friend's 718 has the same thing too. Almost 16000km now and nothing has gone wrong, so I guess it's okay. Just need a nice car wash after each event.
