it may go with it, but it doesnt have any give it the distinction a carbon fiber and black or gray combo would have. I would rather see browns with browns or i would rather see that brown interior with silver or aluminum trim

Nor wood nor CF do it for me.

Expresso with brushed aluminum or external color?

I think with espresso, I would go with leather trim over aluminum or silver trim, or even CF or body color.

Pictures of Espresso don't do it justice. I have a white car over Espresso with wood trim, and it looks great. I have seen several times Espresso and Espresso/Cognac with CF and they both look great. I recently saw Agate over Espresso/Cognac and was very impressed - very classy and sporty. Good luck with your choice.

Personally don't think mahogany belongs in a sports car but would probably look great with Espresso. Better than CF i think. Humble opinion.

Beige, Brown and espresso aren't as popular in Porsches, and can be hard to sell. But if you are going to enjoy the car for a long time, get what you want. Beware of anything more slippery than leather on a steering wheel. Slippery steering wheels don't belong in sports cars.

I'd do the espresso/cognac interior, maybe with painted interior trim instead of CF. The agate grey has a slight touch of brown in some light, so the 2 tone interior plays off it well.

I considered agate with espresso, which I still think would look great. In the end I decided chalk with espresso looked better!!!

I had cocoa interior in my 997 C4 (with midnight blue exterior). Although it looked "classy" and "rich", I liked it less as time went on. Too sedate. I feel the same way about the potential combo of agate and espresso. I think that the two tone brown interior would give more contrast and would deliver more visual impact.
(I have an agate Macan in addition to my GT silver 991.2 C4, so I'm not an agate exterior hater. I hope you're not considering agate interior however.)

Trying to match the interior color of the car to the exterior color of the car is unnecessary. And is, IMO, the wrong criteria for the selection of either.

Primarily because the two colors are never seen together in any meaningful way. That is, when you're outside the car you barely see the interior. Likewise, when you're inside the car, very little of the body paint is visible.

Many people obsess over these color combinations, believe that if they pick the wrong combination, they'll create some visually disgusting car. Truth be known, Porsche has seen to it that their customers cannot do that. There are no standard offerings of interior/exterior color combinations which are complete screw ups.

So, my suggestion would be you pick the exterior color you like to look at without regard to the interior color. Pick the interior color(s) you like to look at without regard to exterior color.

Digging the OP's taste.

I find Agate on Espresso to be gorgeous—subtle, tasteful, and elegant without losing a proper sporting vibe. Not sure I would do the CF trim, but the leather dash trim in more Espresso becomes too much brown to these eyes—a problem I don't see with black interiors with the black dash trim. YMMV, but I'd consider the standard dash trim or the brushed aluminum (too bad you can't get the gray brushed aluminum from the GT4 without spending $$$$ for it as a CXX option).
