Exhaust sound
Coming from a 991.1 base carrera with the sports exhaust I find the exhaust sound from my 991.2 turbo to be just not as loud. Definitely a different characteristic with the turbos. I'm still in break in period and have not driven the car above 4000 rpm. If I put it in sports plus and go higher revs does it get much more aggressive sounding? Just curious. Thanks

I'd certainly wait until you really get a chance to crack the stock exhaust open (for some it's "enough"), before pulling the trigger on an aftermarket. However, when that time comes and you want to go for something more savage sounding, I'd suggest taking a look at our system. It will get the hair on the back of your neck to stand straight up and have you down shifting for no practical reason. Here's a link.
All the best,
Andrew

Put a simple, dealer installed Sharkwerks on it and forget it. It's not too, too loud...just right. I've had a couple of 991 TTS and put it on both. Cheaper, too.

I'm also looking into a dealer--installed Sharkwerks. I believe it is the only aftermarket exhaust for our cars that maintains the factory cats, or at least was designed to retain the stock cats. Also, if you are warranty-conscious, technically PCNA can deny a warranty claim if the aftermarket exhaust is deemed to have caused the problem (and if you run a search, you'll find at least one report of a 991 owner denied an engine-related warranty claim based on an aftermarket exhaust) so having a dealer go to bat for you may help.

I've got an FVD Brombacher system on my 991.1 TTS, and it retains the factory cats. I am currently running my OE exhaust tips, although I have ordered the FVD tips. For me, it's the perfect solution. It makes the car sound like a Porsche, but it's not too loud. This was especially important for me because I drive a cabriolet and I didn't want an obnoxious exhaust.

Mine got 20 miles from new, oil temp at 105 deg C and full throttle in sports + redline in 1st 2nd 3rd and nearly in 4th. I'm up to 120 miles now
The exhaust and engine note sounds great at full chat with a lovely induction roar, I'm very impressed.

I am also coming from a 991.1 (C4S) with Sport Exhaust. I have about 600 miles on my 991.2 Turbo S.
The Turbo S is not nearly as loud. I have been up to 6,000 rpm, and it doesn't come close to the volume of the PSE on the C4S.
I have a new Europipe exhaust for dealer to install when we return from our vacation. Took the new Turbo S on it's maiden voyage from Denver area to Telluride.
Here is the interesting part regarding the exhaust note, per Stef at Europipe:
'Our exhaust sounds about as loud as the stock exhaust in normal mode because of the very low rpm gear shifts. (1500 - 1800 rpm)
Once in sport mode you’ll hear the whistling sound of the turbochargers. Generally the loudness is boost related so the higher the turbo boost the louder and more aggressive it sounds.
The backfires are only in Sport and not in Sport + as with the previous 991.1 Turbo. So the 991.2 Turbo sounds less aggressive in Sport + compared to the 991.1 Turbo."
I was surprised by the last sentence , but he is correct. Even with the stock exhaust, the 991.2 turbos are quieter in "Sport Plus" than in "Sport".

Agree, spot on, did the Sharkworks too and it's a great happy medium. It's catback so should be no warranty issues. It adds some sound to the TTS but still not close to NA GT3s that hit 9K rpm.
