Default Winter Tires in Standard Centerlock Wheels

Does anyone know if I can put the Pirelli winter tires on the standard centerlock wheels of the 991.1 TTS? I used to own a set of the winter wheels and tires and discovered the winter Porsche centerlock wheels are narrower than the standard wheels. It looks like the winter tires are not as wide as the standard tires.

I have an extra set of the standard Porsche OEM standard wheels and figured it would be cheaper to just replace the tires than buy the winter wheel set again. But since the rear winter tires are 295 I wasn't sure they can fit the standard wheels that use 305s.

Thanks for your help!

Yes you can. I'm running Michelin winter tires on my OE centerlock wheels now. I plan to make them my permanent winter wheels. My new summer wheels should be here next week.

Thanks. I wasn't sure because the Pirelli Winter tires state the wheel width should be a max of 11 and the standard center locks are 11.5. It looks like the winter tires are 11.6" wide at max, do they look strange on the standard wheels?

They certainly don't bulge over the edge of the wheel as much as a summer tire, but they don't look bad or strange at all.

Awesome Dennis. Just to confirm - your winter tires are 295s in the back and 245s in the front? This is so huge! I don't have to buy new wheels! I already had a second set of standard OEM centerlockss with summer tires, so I just have to add the winter tires to them. Thank you for the quick help!

No problem. The tires are N-spec Michelin Alpins, 295/30R20 on the rear and 245/35R20 on the front.

Yes, same set-up here on the stock 11.5'' wide rear rims, no problem, runs great in the snow

There is no issue to run 295 on stock turbo s wheels.
And i don't know why, people are telling me to go with michelin not pirelli.

2 choice of winter tire are available. Michelin PA5 or Pirelli Sottozero both in Porsche standard size - P245-45R20 & P295-45R20
Picture when the arrived....
Sorry but Porsche standard size for 911 Turbo is 245-35-20 Front & 305-30-20 Rear (245-35-20 & 295-30-20 for winter tires)
What you just ordered will be 2'' higher diameter in front and over 3'' in the rear ?
Good luck with wheelwell clearance and possible rubbing and not messing up the PCM for ABS and TC to act funny !

I just realized that I published on the wrong thread. I don’t understand because I was on a 992 winter tire thread! Sorry about that!

I see the 305/30/R21 are nearly twice the price of the 295/30/R2. As I collect my car Nov/Dec I was hoping the dealer may fit some winters for me but I baulk at that price a little.

I bought a set of OZs and used the Michelin's in stock 245/305 sizes. My rears are 12" wide. In the city, the ride is noticeably smoother than the PS4s.
