Default Amber/white side markers?

Why do some Turbo S have amber side markers while others have white? I know they can be changed out but my '16 has white and came that way and the newer 17's seems to have amber. Just curious. USA market im referring to.

My understanding is that US DOT mandates that the side markers must be amber when imported...they are easily swapped out with LED clear lenses and look SO MUCH BETTER...some dealers with swap them as well, but many don't...

I believe that they are all equipped with amber side markers in the US. My 2014 had amber markers from the factory. As mentioned above, some dealers swap them.

... and also in Canada as well.
The good dealers will switch them out for you without any hassles.

I've heard that's the conventional wisdom (i.e., go for clear), but I love the way amber goes with my night blue exterior.
