Lightbulb GT Silver 991.2 TS with a satin PPF wrap video

Good afternoon everyone. Just wrapped up on a project and we are excited to share it with you. We performed a full body satin paint protection film wrap on a 2017 911 Turbo S which gave it a unique satin(not matte) finish along with all the benefits paint protection film gives in terms of ease of care and protection.

The glossy black aero pieces were wrapped with glossy PPF.

For this project, the owner got our advanced wrap where we minimize exposed edges and seams by removing the door handles, mirrors, front and rear emblems, headlights, tail lights, front bumper, side markers and additional effort was put forth to give the car a beautiful fit and finish that can not otherwise be accomplished.

As always, all parts are catalogued and listed so it goes back perfectly.

We hope you enjoy!

Great result as per the video. At least no signs are visible that it is not a paint but a film.

What was the cost of doing such a detailed project?

The full body satin PPF wrap is $7000.

I saw this car at caffeine and exotics. The workmanship on the wrap was impeccable.

However I have to say that the overall finish with the wrap does not look anywhere near as good as a genuine matte paint finish from BMW. Having seen BMW's Frozen paints, they have a strong satin aspect and a metallic brilliance that gets lost with this wrap. The wrap seems less satin than the BMW Frosted clear coat, and the metallic content is also not as prominent.

Thank you.

BMW's Frozen finish is very nice. But for the owner wanting a satin look as a temporary look, buying a new car when they're tired of it isn't very practical. And it's still very exposed without PPF over it so one is still facing paint that will rapidly degrade if not protected(considering it is not a garage queen and is driven). In that scenario, one is back to a satin wrap. The satin PPF wraps are great for full body protection and a tasteful aftermarket look.

One thing very worth noting about how you saw the car was how poor the light was during the C&E show. It was full-on overcast the whole show. The satin looks its best when there is sunlight on it. Without sunlight, it's not going to look brilliant. I would say to reserve the full judgement until you see one in good sunlight.

Here are some pictures from the project. Sorry for the delay in getting these up. Busy busy!

Picking her up in our custom spec Intech car hauler:

Front bumper was full custom. The majority of the car was custom wrapped as well.

Here are some tighter shots and final shots of the craftsmanship:

The line you see here is not a PPF seam. That is the mold/form line from Porsche. We performed a 1 piece seamless wrap on these mirrors side to side and wrapped inside the mirror recess.

On the body lines:

Buttoned up:

We had 2 991.2 Turbo S's in for extensive work at the same time. Why not show them off as brothers from other mothers?

Delivered back to his home and ready for life in Atlanta.

Hope you all enjoyed it!
