Default Thoughts on mapping?

I want to map my 14 plate 991 turbo cab so that it has more low end power. What have you guys achieved in terms of BHP after a map. I don't want to change air filters or exhausts or put in anything non standard. I also want to keep the Porsche warranty so it needs to be non detectable. I am assuming a flash upgrade to the engine ECU? Has anyone had this done. What BHP increase did you get ? Was it worth it. I live in London in the U.K. by the way so please bear that in mind in your recommendations ! Is the difference in power sizeable ?

Hi mate

Basically from my understanding here in England the main tuners for the 991 tts are:

ES Motoruk

DMS

9E

Severn Valley Motorsport

Litchfield Motorsport

Personally i'd get a Cobb Access Port where you can install the built in map easily and remove it whenever you need to

The built in/Of the shelf map (OTS) is pretty good for what it is

And if you want to go right down to the wire i'd personally contact ES Motor and they will do a custom tune using the Cobb AP which will even make it into a more of a monster that it is

Their times and results are proven

Hope that helps and enjoy

Just a protune on the 991 Turbo is worth a good 70-80hp and about 100tq over factory. Technically there is no such thing as an "undetectable tune" as every time the ECU is flashed it triggers a counter. Even if you remove the tune from the ECU completely, the counter still shows that it was flashed.

Now that being said, some dealers don't look that deep into it and don't care it's a bit of a gray area. If you want the most flexible tuning option out there, I would highly recommend the COBB Accessport with a Protune we offer. You will receive the maximum performance gains available on a stock car, and the Accessport allows you to uninstall the tune from you car within minutes in the event you want to bring it to the dealer and be as discreet as possible. COBB is also operating on the leading edge of tuning development, and has already found a way on the 981 ECU to reset that flash counter when removing the ECU file from the vehicle. In time, perhaps that ability will make it's way to the 991TT platform as well.
