Painted rear side intake?
I'm getting a jet black metallic Turbo. I'm back and forth on the painted rear side intake.
Thoughts or experience? I'm a little worried about chips on a painted piece near that vacuum cleaner of an intake...

Won't notice it much on a black car. For protection, you can always have film applied. I like body color painted trim (as much as possible, within reason) because it makes detailing easier.

I recently ordered a black TTS Cab and ticked this box. I'm not sure the average person will even see the difference, but after seeing a lot of pics online with and without the intake painted, I think it looks more complete painted. No regrets after ordering, it's one of the options I'm looking forward to seeing in person upon delivery. (I felt there was more risk I'd regret not doing it later)

I would do it. I am having my 991TTS painted as soon as the snow melts - rockers, rear fascia, - basically anywhere paint will stick ....and to LexVan's comment, having film applied where exposed to a thrashing...and my car is Basalt..but it makes a difference in my opinion.

I've ordered night blue, and, after examining in person how the intakes look painted vs. unpainted on dark cars, I decided to leave them unpainted. I actually like the slight emphasis that the slight contrast gives to the intake as a visual feature of the car.

I went back and forth, didn't order it. After having my TTS for a week I had the dealer order ones for me. Had them painted and installed. Looks like it came from the factory. so don't stress. It's a fixable thing. Unlike the headlamp washers......

I went with 21's and wider tires (325 on rear). They can make the wheels in the stock 20" size as well.
HRE offers many different finishes (and many other cool designs). I also love their aggressive offset, looks awesome from all angles.
They're certainly not cheap, but quality is top notch... And it's the feature I always find myself looking at the most when I look at my car. I get tons of compliments on them as well.
