Default 19" Wheels & track Tires

I Don't know if this has been posted before.. Has anyone tried 19" wheels on the 991 Turbo? If so what experiences with track tires?

I am looking into a set of Hoosier R7s

265/35 x 19
315/35 x 19

Currently Running Trofeo R in 20" sizes, they work amazingly well but looking for some additional grip front and rear. I particularly like taller tires in the rear as they provide smoother transitions for time attack and some additional rake and front downforce. So the 315/35 should work well, fitment doesn't seem to be an issue.

Offset 48 and 47mm, same as 997 GT2RS/Gt3RS.

Most 19" will have a tough time clearing the brakes, won't they?

Need4S, They fit steel brakes. PCCBs, some 19" wheels do.

I guess more people here go for 21" than 19"

i tired to get 19s. Won't clear rear dust guard, running 20s. Also it bothered me that the tpms only had options for 20... thought might be issues with all the systems.

Search over on the GT3 forum, same brakes and tire sizes, different offsets though. Some track guys run 19" with steel and a few with PCCB brakes. I run stock but a good track buddy runs 19" with Hoosiers over PCCB brakes. You can also contact one of the tuners BBi, GMG, Sharkwerks, or other who have done it and can give you fitment recommendations.

Gt3 doesn't have the dust guard... I suppose you could remove it and run 19s?

I wish they would.

We have 20"s on our Turbo S and an extra set of wheels in 19" for the rear that we put a Mickey Thompson tire on. It looks so tough with the 19" and the big rubber. We could not fit the 19" on the front with the PCCB's.
