Default Retrofit steering wheel

I'm looking at a '15 TTS; one I wanted spec'd perfectly slipped through my hands. Finding that the vast majority have the non-heated multi-function wheel:

Is it possible to retrofit the multi-function wheel? Ideally the '17 version, but I'm ok with the '15 version as well:

Thanks

i think it is POSSIBLE because there are threads on swapping them the other way. I think you would have to buy a different center column piece without the stalk or jus leave it there dead. That being said, I have driven both and prefer the upper wheel with the paddles over the lower wheel with the buttons to shift.
I would love to go to the 17 wheel if it was possible though.

You can retrofit the 991.1 multifunction wheel. It will require buying a multi function module. You will lose paddles. If you want paddles, techart makes a wheel which is multifunction with paddles for the 991.1.

Someone tried to fit the 991.2 multifunction wheel to the 991.1 a few weeks ago and the dealer couldn't get it to work.

The stalk can be removed. It is a module.

Great info - thanks stealth. The Techart option looks really good, if likely expensive.

I have the Techart shift paddles for the 999.2 multi function steering wheel. They work great but they are a bit flimsy and are made of cheap feeling plastic as opposed to the nude metal
Of the OEM sport wheel.

Hi. It is possible. I actually went the other way and swapped out a carbon fiber heated multi function wheel for a sport design wheel. The dealer will need to reprogram the car for the new wheel. If you are interested, I still have the MF carbon fiber wheel and I would like to sell it. It is from a '15 TTS.

I am looking to swap my Sport steering with a CF MF. Please let me know if you still have the wheel.

Hi. Yes I still have the wheel. I have not touched it since having it replaced. I was getting ready to list it. If you are interested you can call or text me. I don't know how to PM. My number is 734 223 2275.

Some one put the 991.2 GT sport wheel on 991.1. This thread might help.

I have ordered one of these new style wheels myself. Am going to have it customized too (thicker, red band on top, red stitching) before installation).

Unfortunately you can't get the new style multifunction to work on the 991.1
