Default Radar/Jammers

I know this topic has been discussed many times on the forum, but I have not seen any new discuss for about 24 months.

Just turned-in a 2015 991.1 TTS Cab for a new 991.2 TTS coupe.

I have have had quite a few new Porsches over the years, and always put a K-40 in all of them. I am included to do that again, but not sure if there is a better alternative.

I want a built-in versus a dash, ie, mount.

Anything new you guys/gals are using?

Escort 9500ci. Get it with the laser shifter option. I have them on all my cars, and it's saved me countless times.

Need4speed....thx for the reply.

One of the options that is necessary is the jammer function needs to be able to turn-off automatically after a few seconds to aviod the law determining I have a jammer...does the 9500ci do that?

Also, what would be your estimate on a installmon a 991.2?

Thx

ALP truly is the best and depending on where you abide you may need to defend against the Dragon Eye (dala) guns...of which only the ALP will provide solid performance...and the filtering capabilities of the Net Radar antenna/system against the new BSM radar systems of newer cars is stellar

No, turn-off is not automatic; you have to hit the "mute" button. Figure ~$2800, but the labor rates around here are very high.

Exactly. Another vote for ALP!

Here are a couple of the recent excellent examples of installed radar and jammers.

Yes they released that feature for Android a few weeks ago. Cool feature. Between doing firmware updates and config changes via app, you no longer need the USB port.

I have this in my GT2 and was my first experience with it. I also have had several K-40s. Prefer the K-40.

Escort 9500ci is a system that was designed in 2008 and has barely been updated.

The K40 is widely regarded as the "Emperor's Clothes" of the radar world. The radar portion is not bad, but it is far from market leading, and the laser jammer portion is basically worthless.

So what is the best dash mounted radar detector then? I just got a ticket and got busted for having a radar detector in the car.

Dash mounted -- Passport Max 360

Latest technology and very good filtering and tells you which direction the radar is coming from
