2015 TTS/PTS - Good Deal?
Gang,
I just laid eyes on what appears to be a Voodoo Blue (they say miami blue, and I highly doubt that it is the color) or close variant PTS at Texas Import Sales-
http://www.texasimportsales.com/web/...Texas/1874879/
Has about 16k miles. They are asking 134k.
Did anyone in this forum own this vehicle or know anything about it? I am trying to get any information I can on the vehicle. If not, no problem. PPI is pretty much a given if I was serious about it., since it is not CPOed.
Thanks

Yes, I believe that is a RL'er car. If it is the one I am thinking about, it was hit in the rear and the original owner didn't want to keep a "flawed" car. It does not show up on the carfax. If you search this forum you will find it. I think he posted it sometime in March/April. Good luck.

I don't know the car.
But, having just gone through the process of purchasing a car, I think that seems like a great deal.
Although not CPO'd, car should have balance of factory warranty until sometime in 2018.
In my search, I found that blue was typically a bit less money than black, white or agate.
Good luck. Part of the fun is the chase...

+what Joe said. Do a search with PTS, wreck, sell (etc.) and you'll find it.
IIRC, the repair work was billed as top-notch. Seller has to know that the car was hit. Use that as a way to knock more k-dollar off. That was a $200k+ build. $125k would be a steal IMO.
I think that one would be a great buy for a long-term driver. No so much if you flip every year or three.

Damn - thanks guys. I appreciate you guys helping me out so much.
Accident doesn't show up in Carfax? No good...
I thought that was a pretty good price. I would agree, if it has been in an accident, I would not want to pay anymore than 125k shipped.
I really appreciate the input here, very helpful and depending upon the dealer giving full disclosure, you guys may have saved me a ton of money. I think the response again reiterate why a PPI is so important on non-CPO cars.

The car belonged to "Doc Malone" (sic) here on RL. He has been very upfront about the accident. All of the above is correct.

Looks like Doc's car. She said it has been sitting for 3 months because of the accident history.
My sense is that you could reach out to her and get the details. Could be a great deal if you plan on keeping it long term.

If you know a car you are purchasing has been in an accident, do you need to
inform your insurance company of such?
Do they care in case of any possible future claim you may have?

Good questions, Hothonda, I would think you wouldn't have to, but I don't know. I may reach out and see what the story is. I will say I don't know how I feel about getting a vehicle that has been in an accident.
I have looked at some TTSs that had less miles and were CPOed for about 5k more, which is much more alluring than the chances I take with this TTS. It's a very pretty car obviously in Mexico Blue but I don't think I would pay much more than 125k.
I found the thread, thanks for the help guys.

Stealth - thanks buddy, much obliged
Doc got back to me and told me about the vehicle. Appears to be a solid choice if I end up going with it.

If wasn't replenishing my piggy bank for toys after last year's purchase and ED of DDG, accident-as-described notwithstanding, I'd be all over this PTS TTS and looking to do a deal at less than 125k.
On the flip side, the dealer will probably stick to 130k limit and wait for a buyer that doesn't know it's been hit. If after a few months...
EDIT: Stupid Rennlist ate the middle of my post. Reason? I used a less-than and greater-than sign before and after 125 and 130 respectively.
