Thumbs up REVIEW | Very Happy That I Ditched My TI Exhaust for a Fabspeed

This review was sent in by a recent customer who came in looking for an alternative to the custom titanium exhaust that he had on his 991 Turbo S. He is not a member on this forum, and thus asked if we could post it on his behalf.

Without further ado...

Very Happy That I Ditched My TI Exhaust for a Fabspeed

After owning my Turbo S in factory form for a few months, I decided to have a local exhaust shop custom fabricate a full titanium exhaust for me. The craftsmanship was quite impressive, but the resulting sound was more than I bargained for. It droned like crazy when driving on the highway, and I got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. I also wanted to installs cats back on the car so that I could get rid of my perpetual CEL.

I reached out to Fabspeed to see what they suggested. As it turns out, they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I worked with one of their performance specialists and we determine that the best setup for me would be their Supersport xpipe exhaust with their high flow cats.

They built my system for me and called me a week later to let me know it was ready. When I arrived for install, they promptly got my car checked in and set to work on removing the TI exhaust. They were very professional with the removal process, making sure not to damage my old exhaust. (It's now hanging on the wall my garage )

They had the new exhaust installed in a few hours and the new result is nothing short of perfect. There is ZERO drone now, but they still managed to keep the great sound and all of the burbles and pops that I loved from my old system. Their tuner actually installed a map on my COBB Accessport to take full advantage of the new exhaust. With the new exhaust and tune installed, I now notice even more throttle response and a smoother power delivery and the CEL is gone! I couldn't have asked for a better result!

I would highly recommend this setup to anyone who is considering upgrading their 991TT. It's the perfect balance of aggressive yet daily drivable sound and adds noticeable power and response. A big thank you to Fabspeed for making my Turbo S my favorite car again!

Here are some photos that I snapped during his installation...

The custom Titanium system that he was running previously. It had a crazy amount of pie-cuts and welds in it, but the work was very clean. Unfortunately, every weld introduces a new HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) which raises the chances of cracking or splitting, which is why we go to great lengths to mandrel bend everything possible to minimize the amount of welds in our systems.

The new Fabspeed HJS Sport Cat installed on the turbo and ready for the Supersport X-Pipe to be installed.

X-Pipe and GT2-style slash cut tips installed and looking great!
