All Season & Winter Driving

I went with OEM wheels (identical to the center locks that came with the car). But there are aftermarket center locks available. But swapping the tires is certainly the most fiscally responsible approach.

Can smaller, ie: 19" center lock wheels w/ snows be used in place of the OEM 20" on our cars?
I ask because there are frequently 19" CL wheels for sale by the GT3 guys. But, very few 20" CL wheels for sale.

Another vote for Michelin Alpins. Good for several inches of snow and also great in icy conditions.
Don't drive the Caymans in winter but I have an Xdrive BMW wagon that I love. Two sets of wheels and the Alpins are for winter, MPSS are for the other 3 seasons.

I'm in the PacNW which can occasionally get snow and ice down near sea level elevations where I live. I drive my car year round. I have a second set of wheels with Michelin Alpins on them for the nominal winter months; these are great with as much as an inch or two of snow on the ground and seem to cope with cold & wet road surfaces pretty well too.
I suspect the only thing that would stop me driving is snow depth that would exceed the height off the road surface of the front the car...not really a great snow plough vehicle given you'd be pushing snow right into the radiator grill up front
