OCTOBER 7TH ATCO GIAC VS. COBB 991 TURBO S SHOOTOUT!!!!
As many of you know we are having a private dragstrip rental at Atco Dragway in Atco, NJ on October 7th. There are still a few spots open for those interested. We would prefer tuned (especially Cobb or GIAC) 911 Turbos, especially 991 Turbos and Turbo S's. If you are interested in participating please PM me.
We want to keep the event limited to 20 cars so that participants can run all day. Fee is $200. Payment in advance via Paypal is required to run. As is a helmet as per NHRA rules. This is a non profit event in which we are splitting the cost of the track rental.
Also, we will be asking 991 Turbo and Turbo S participants who will be doing the Cobb vs GIAC races to open their front trunk so we can see if anyone is running water meth. That includes me. Water meth is allowed of course but we want everyone to know the actual mods of the cars running. I have heard rumors of tuners removing safety systems such as torque limiters for the event which would be a huge disservice to our members if not disclosed by the owner. Similarly, if someone is running nitrous or C16 which would ask that they disclose this as this would affect performance dramatically but these are not sustainable as they will damage the car.
We want the Porsche community to see the results of the races and know what kind of mods the cars actually have as the results may very well influence purchase decisions as to mods. We want to see some great runs between the Cobb and GIAC mod packages.
My car has no water meth and has all the safety systems and torque limiters in place. No nitrous either. Definitely no C16 either. I do intend to use MS109 race gas which anyone can get. I would highly recommend race gas for anyone participating in the GIAC/Cobb battles.
My car's performance mods are:
GIAC Stage 2+
Champion Intercoolers
Tubi catless race exhaust
IPD plenum
BMC filter
Champion race diverter valves
My tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Would love R compound tires for the event but don't really want to spend more than $2k for tires I would never use outside of an event.
My Y pipe is stock. I would have installed the IPD Y pipe but it does not fit the Champion intercoolers. And the Champion Y pipe is still in development and hence not on my car.
Getting exciting about the event and praying for good weather.

Just a reminder to those who are going to the October 7 Atco event to send the $200 registration fee to David Aloni via PayPal to steelers1x@yahoo.com. Only people paying the registration fee will be allowed to participate.
Weather is forecast to fantastic for October 7 at Atco with abundant sunshine with a low in the upper 40s and a high in the low 70s -- perfect weather and a low low DA. This should lead to some killer elapsed times.

2. 911 Turbo S Cobb Stage 3, ByDesign intercoolers, catless exhaust (pasd181)
3. 991 Turbo S with Cobb Stage 2 and Europipe (no other mods) (jmorgan911) (a maybe)
4. 991 Turbo S cabriolet with Cobb Stage 2 and Fabspeed hatless exhaust (jyupitt1)
5. 911 Turbo S with GIAC Stage 2 and Europipe (nfall) (a maybe)
6. CLS63 AWD with Weistec turbo upgrade, Powerhaus Performance custom tune, ice trunk tank, catless downpipes (850 horsepower)
7. CLS63 RWD with Weistec turbo upgrade, Powerhaus Performance custom tune, ice trunk tank, catless downpipes on drag radials (850 horsepower)
8. E63 S AMG sedan, Renntech full tune, Renntech sport mufflers (my car) (716 horsepower)
9. Switzer Goliath GTR (more than 1900 wheel horsepower)
10. M5 with water meth injection, custom tune and catless downpipes (800 horsepower)
11. RS7 with APR tune and Miltek catless exhaust (has done 10.3 second quarter mile)
12. RS7 with APR tune
13. RS7 with APR tune
14. M4 with full bolt ons
15. Maserati Quattroporte with Novitec tune (jyupitt1)
16. 2003 SL55 highly modded -- beat my E63 at Race Warz 2
17. E55 with Weistec supercharger and custom tune from Powerhaus Performance.
18. E63 biturbo RWD with Powerhaus Performance custom tune
19. CTS V with custom tune
I am not the holder of the list but these are the cars I know about. There are about 5 highly modded AMGs going but I am not familiar with those cars.
We are going to have some ridiculous cars there.

To all my good friends with the Cobb tune. This is what coming for you on October 7 LOL
RedGutz kills a full bolt on 600 wheel horsepower GTR from a 45 mph roll three times in a row. My answer to some of these rather surprising Dyno runs which clam that the GIAC tune makes crap power.

But I had a passenger in that race and my low fuel light was on. As you know, the ECU cuts power once the low fuel reserve light comes on so I was running on reduced power. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8330...ack-no-no.html
We raced before my low fuel light was on and I beat him as well as another Cobb stage 2 991 Turbo. But most people only put up videos of their wins. I put up wins and losses.
I just put up all my videos that I took that day but I only took videos after lunch (won every race after lunch except one of four races to her recon and one of 45 races to a full both on GTR). The three Cobb runs were in the morning. The pictured one was right before lunch and I had been running for almost three hours without a break or cool down period.
I'll have my cameras up at the Atco event from the first race. Figured out the best way to mount them.

A couple more details:
1. Gates open at 9 am. Racing starts at 930 am.
2. Speed shop opens at 9 am
3. They sell race gas at the speed shop including MS109 for $15/gallon. They pump it out of a drum into the cars.
4. They are an air hose at the Speed Shop if you will be letting air out of tires for better ETs

Crickets. Go to 6speedonline to see what's been reported, it wasn't nearly what was hoped for and so far, no slips but some second hand reports of 131mph traps and a 10.3 ET which is pretty darn good but with a 132 trap and no slips yet. I thought I would check here to see if maybe they were posting results yet over here.

My car had both the fastest trap speed (132.09) and lowest ET 10.316. The Cobb Stage 2 car with Europipe was only a hair behind those marks and punched far above its weight. Awesome car.
THe biggest disappointment was the Cobb stage 3 car. The car had mechanical problems and left early. Man oh man did I want its Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. I am sure they will get it sorted out and it will fly at future meets
My best results (numerous 10.3s) were mostly in the afternoon when my tires finally hooked up in warmer temps but when the hot and humid air produced a DA of about 1500 feet which hurt the results. In the morning, when the air temps were cooler and the DA much better I could not launch -- just too much power for the cold temps and summer tires. Spun my wheels all morning long. Needs r compound tires and didn't have them.
Here are the best slips
