I received my first news on DDG. She's on the boat. Due into port on July 1st. Dealer indicates that it will be two weeks clearing customs. For some reason the ED cars take longer to clear. I hope they put it back together properly after searching it for contraband (why else would it take longer?)

I took this crappy pic in the Hotel parking garage.

I am missing this car. However, perhaps, not-so-much as my wife. Since we were notified of the name of the ship on which DDG was loaded she's been providing me with morning and evening updates on its progress.

This morning's update was that the boat had arrived at the port. Two days early. Cool.

But, I'm thinking that I might not be driving it as much as I expected. I anticipate going out to the garage to find an empty bay.

Two weeks stuck in the port, but DDG is now at my dealer. I got the call today and stopped by on the way home. I gave her a quick once-over but it was easy to tell that there was no damage en-route: all the German bug guts are exactly where we left them. I told my SA to not have it washed.

Now, all she needs is her plates. Insurance company has the paperwork.

Picked up DDG from The Dealer this afternoon. They kinda-sorta washed it , removed the Vignette that I was going to leave on the windshield for a while, but left most of the German bug guts.

No matter. I have a few other stickers (and no, as a rule, stickers never go on our cars, but these are exceptional)

Interior shot. I really like the leather in place of the plastic, metal, or CF trim.

DDG at home. In my unfinished, somewhat messy, but very functional and "reasonably-sized" garage.

One day this weekend will be spent detailing DDG's exterior. A couple of glamour shots may follow.

I had Unique Car Care do an Xpel wrap firewall forward along with the sills and up the hips. They did a nice job on the wrap. I also had them do CQuartz. I'll report back when I do the first wash on how that works.

I shamelessly stole these pics from their FB page; I didn't find a Model Release Form signed by DDG, so all's fair...

The chrome-like edging on the black wheels goes with the chrome-like molding perfectly...really stunning!

I stopped by to visit Rick, Peter and Ryan and saw it in person. I love the color combination and the wheel choice. Very nice!!

Will you be attending the NER PCA Concurs d'Elegance this Saturday at the Larz Anderson Museum?

Thanks! That was all part of the plan.

A couple of weeks and you're off to get yours. Are you going out of your mind yet?

I'm 85% on-board. I'm in the process of getting the supercharger back in my '91 928GT (had to pull it to reseal it and do some A/C work).

If it's not ready by Saturday I'll slum it in DDG . If CarChick goes we might bring both.

I have a TTS in Agate Grey with the same wheels. I'm quite fond of it. I did add 8mm spacers all the way around to slightly notch up the aggressiveness of the appearance.

I wrapped the whole car in Xpel Ultimate. I dont want to deal with two different finishes.

Great story & nice build. As another member mentioned the window trim matched with the wheels. As an ex-Porsche Sales Professional I would not have a problem 1 bit w/ your build! I've come to find if you don't do the painted seat backs the leather option on the backs is a really choice option.

I also like the usage of leather. I agree the more leather the better- I've not heard of a complaint on leather over the years, but I have heard issues with the carbon fibre.

I'm working w/ my mother's travel agency and knowledge of cars to create a place for ED info. I just missed a PCNA contract to handle the ED program.. would have been fun but why should anything change... I'm a Ronin.

Just wanted to compliment you on the wonderful build. 1 question I get the coolness of the bugs etc.. I would have maybe wrapped the plates with saran wrap - thinking ahead- if they had bug kills for the garage, however I would worry about the bug residue messing up the paint. as I'm typing this the love bugs were out in force today.. those can truly mess up paint if left on the vehicle.

Enjoy in good health. wish you the best.

Do they drill the bumper for the euro plates? LA is a non-front plate state.
