lol You are cruel man! As if they need any reminding

I will say that as good as the new turbos sound, and even better again with the right system as you know, but the 9000 rpm of the new GT3 would edge out the turbos in that area. So I guess that helps as some consolation for GT3 eating turbo's dust.

I never even considered the GT3. I have always wanted the 911 Turbo S. It is the fastest 911 you can buy and you can daily drive it all year round if you want. The GT3 is a track toy too harsh to be a daily driver. There is nothing wrong with that other than it just does not fit my needs and wants.

Hands-down, GT3's have the better sound, driven by it's NA high RPM redline! Also has great visual presence!

It's just not a DD friendly car...
That's not to say it can't be driven daily, but it will wear on you after a few thousand miles.
GT3's home is on a race track... unlike a TT/S.

GT3 is perhaps the best looking 991, it is more ready for track use, although I am sure tolerably compliant for touring and the exhaust note is amazing. I considered one briefly, but since I will only do DE's occasionally my track time will be very limited. The versatility of the TTS in New England and the relatively linear power curve made the decision easy for me. It is very nice to have thrust instantly available unaccompanied by any drama. No doubt that the TTS exhaust note could be improved upon, although the overrun is not shabby in stock form, and I believe that a EP may be in my future, but for now my Pan GTS provides all the exhaust symphony I need on a daily basis.

As to forum activity/utility, I very much appreciate the very engaged GT3 folks' cruises through the 991 Turbo forum, as they have been very helpful to me on my DIY CL wheel questions.

I have had only one encounter with a 991 GT3 on the highway. It predictably ended quickly with no drama and all had thumbs up at the conclusion.

A 991 GT3 cannot run with a 991 TTS in a straight line. TTS is way more powerful. Of course on a track GT3 will be faster around the turns.

My point is that both are amazing machines, but the TTS suits my needs better.

991is more tunable than a GT3.
I have done the following
GIAC Stage2
Tubi race exhaust
Plenum
H&R 30 mm lowering springs
MSC2s

Running o 100 OCT tune pushing 700hp-at crank.
Exiting the corners TTS is faster. Showing 1.2 Gs cornering easy now.
Now launch control the TTS just explodes off the line.
GT3 are in my mirrors now!

Great mods. Do you have the BMC filter or the Champion race diverter valves (given that you are running so much extra boost).

Hope this does not sound crass because I have the utmost respect for the model choices of others, but there is substance to the reasons why the 991 T and TTS cost quite a bit more than the GT3. The TTS, even without engine tune, but with 30 mm lowering springs and Troffeo or M Cup tires will produce serious lateral grip gains and the grunt out of corners is tough to beat. It lacks the drama of the GT3's look and exhaust note, but gets the job done. To each his own.

Getting back to the OP's question though, it appears that the GT3 folks are more engaged, if not necessarily more populous. Not sure if this question has been answered, but what are the 991GT3 and 991 T and TTS populations? My guess is that there are way more 991 T's and TTS's. Could be that the track enthusiasts who would like to or plan to own the 991 GT3 add significantly to that forum's activity.
