Default Ipod Touch - accessory not supported

I keep an iPod touch plugged into the auxiliary input in the glovebox at all times. Last week, I couldn't select it from my PCM. I plugged and unplugged it and got a message on the iPod saying that the accessory was not supported by the device. Replaced the cable with a new cable, and it worked again, This morning - same message. I haven't updated the iPod software. I will tonight. In the meantime, anyone else having this issue?

My IPhone stopped connecting as an audio aux selection yesterday. Phone still works, and shows up, but the media selection is gone. Worked fine up until then. IOS8?

I download my music files from iTunes onto USB Flash Drives and plug the
Flash Drive into the USB port on my 911 and Panamera with no problems.
Works great and does not tie up my iPhone or iPod.

iOS8 appears to have disconnected iPhone owners from hands-free driving.

Also, if you just purchased a new iPhone 6, good luck pairing your new iPhone to your Porsche: I can't, nor can Porsche service personnel, who are aware of the issue and are anticipating unhappy customers with a non-functioning, hands-free experience, now a requirement in many states.

Given that iOS8 was announced last June, this should have been addressed well before now.

Apple advised me that although it may be possible to go back to iOS7, they won't support that.

He was surprised to hear of the problem, claiming that the bluetooth tech between iOS7 and iOS8 are similar.

Nonetheless, I now wish I hadn't upgraded my iPhone 5s to iOS8, unless someone can vouch for a safe return to iOS7. FWIW, the Apple Genius was not very encouraging about this prospect.

I've been completely underwhelmed by IOS 8 and the new iPhones, they aren't terrible but they just aren't even the "small" leap I expected. I think I'll be getting a Samsung Note 4 or a Sony Z3 instead.

I had no problem synching my iPhone 6 to the PCM today. And my ipod worked. It was a good day

I suppose it might be your 2015 model is slightly more up to date although I doubt there is any real difference between the 2014 and 2015 computer hardware.

Update: I was just able to sync my 997.2 with iPhone 6. My 991 does not. I'm going to delete previous settings and try again. The Porsche dealership couldn't get it to work, but I'm not sure if they deleted the older iPhones first -- that could be the trick to this.

That is not a step forward IMO. The Sony Z3 is quality hardware, but Androids are just too riddled with security issues due to fragmentation of the platform. Too, many don't realize that 99% of all malware is targeting the Android phones. Samsung is still playing catch up to Apple with 64bit smartphones, after a year.

The camera on the iPhone 6 is a big improvement, not to mention battery life, speed, and screen resolution on the Plus. Touch ID on the 5S and 6 are superior to any security option of the competition.

FWIW I was able to pair my iPhone 6 with a 2014 991 turbo today.

Also my wife was able to pair her iPhone 6 with her 2014 Cayenne GTS without any trouble.

I have had a few glitches in getting my phone set up. I would suggest you unpair and forget the device both on the phone and the car and then do a hard reset of the phone. This solved my other connectivity issues (exchange server).

Default no problem

absolutely no issues with my iPhone 6. Exact same experience as my 5S with iOS 7 (except I already prefer iOS 8 and the 6 is a vastly superior phone).
