Default NEW GMG Porsche 991 Turbo 321 Stainless Headers / Exhaust Manifold

The latest GMG Porsche 991 Turbo exhaust manifold system is handcrafted from the highest grade 321 stainless steel and features equal length tubing and large 3 into 1 merge collectors.

The GMG system is designed to reduce exhaust back pressure and complements the 991 Turbo's capabilities with improved throttle response and an increase in power and torque output. Untilizing equal length tubing and large 3 into 1 merge collectors, smoother flow of exhaust gases is achieved.

GMG chose 321 stainless steel to build the 991 Turbo headers due it's improved heat management properties over 304 stainless steel. For many high performance turbo applications, exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) can exceed 1400° F which is beyond the working temperatures of mild and 304 stainless steel. Because of it's excellent resistance to fatigue and cracking at elevated temperatures, 321 stainless steel tubing is one of the most desirable materials for exhaust systems.

Stabilized with titanium, 321 is an excellent choice for most turbo applications due to the increased material strength at high temperatures. To prevent premature cracking or warping, the GMG manifolds utilize laser cut flanges and each side of the turbo flanges are meticulously TIG welded. Proper welding technique is very critical for turbo headers due to the high stresses they see when in use.

To reduce heat and to direct more exhaust energy to the turbochargers, thicker stainless tubing is used versus standard thin wall stainless. 321 stainless conducts less heat than mild steel, helping to reduce heat and to direct more exhaust energy to the turbos.

The GMG Porsche 991 Turbo exhaust manifold system is designed to work with the factory turbochargers as a bolt-on replacement.

- Large primary runner with a 3 into 1 collector
- Improve throttle response and reduce turbo lag
- Increase horsepower and torque output
- Smoother flow of exhaust gases into turbocharger
- Reduced temperature
- Laser cut flanges to ensure no warping
- Meticulously TIG welded to exceptional strength and durability
- Lightweight: 12lbs vs 18lbs OEM
- Designed to work with factory turbochargers
- Handcrafted in the USA

It's amazing how crappy the stock headers look. Something I would expect in a corvette, not a $200k Turbo S!

Function over form!

It's what happens when the engineers get to run the show!

The OE headers look like a bean counter solution and don’t look very efficient using a two-piece stamped primary with a design causing turbulence to the turbos.

Rennlist Members,

Thank you for the kind words. Our headers have gained a significant improvement in performance during our dyno tests.

Here are some videos:

Where is the before and after dyno, with data logging? I call major bull**** on power gains. You slowed spool down considerably with those headers and stock exhaust. You also increased turbulence exactly where you do not want it - at the turbine housing inlet. The OEM Porsche headers have a pipe that extends out of the mating flange for a good reason - to decrease turbulence! This noticeably decreases lag.

Don't be fooled by all these companies claiming 991 turbo headers make power - I'd love to see a 60-130 comparison of headers alone.
