Default 991 TTS Launch

I should be receiving my TTS on 5th May - I cannot wait.
For those who have received theirs:
1. Have you launched the car yet?
2. Do have to break in the engine - 2000 miles etc - before you Launch.
3. It is preferred to find a isolated stretch of road to launch or should you launch only on the track?

You probably should break it in first, and you can find an empty stretch of road to test it out no problem. It is a blast and is guaranteed to get screams/gasps/holy ****s out of any passenger! Just do it!

Yes.you need road,it will scare the shixxx out of you,but it is a Blast...

I waited until I had it broken in. I found a stretch of flat road with little to no traffic, limited access points, and clear sight lines to those access points.

One word: unfreakingbelievable.

I waited until I was past 1k miles. Only one launch so far, did it on an empty stretch of road w/ a passenger. He about lost his lunch. It's violent.

300 miles to go and I gotta try the launch! Is it really that good? Mags say its quickest car to 30mph, beating the almighty Veyron!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing after reading all the superlatives heaped on the launch experience going back to the 997.2 TT PDK. It pretty much matches what I expected.

I didn't try it until about 3k in. Thought I should find a track, but eventually just found a straight stretch of road with not much around. I did 6 consecutive launches on the first launch outing. Absolutely amazing. Remember to hold on tight.

You really don't need too much road for a 0-60 run. How far do you think you can go in 3 seconds? I did get a launch headache on my first try.

No too far...

Will wait for 1000 Miles - and will do it first time with the top down - go pro attached...

Serious,on my 2012 997 Turbo S with 800 miles went to the Drag Strip .First outing I did three passes and a couple weeks later went again and did five back to back quarter mile passes using launch control on every pass.The car was flaw less and the temperature did not even rise.. All the passes were from 10.70s to 10.90s @ 128/129 mph.Bone Stock...My 991 TS is better in every way than my 997 TS and I expect no less from it.The 991 TS has only 400 miles,after 1000 mile,it will be at the Test and Tune whooping *** on those Mclarens and 458 etc..

Just take a breath,be ready and hold the wheel straight and you will be ok...

No street car will beat a Turbo S from the start ...

I had a 997.1 Turbo Cab Tuned to 700HP (750 on Race Gas) ( no pdk) - I tracked many times - that thing flew ....
Also have a 458 Spider (never launched it)
But the 991 Turbo S Cab I will .... soon... I have read reviews on people doing 10 (TEN) launches on this car back to back without any issues...
