Working on spec'ing out my April build Turbo S. I was originally set on white with black/red two-tone interior, but I'm now thinking the big black air scoops on the rear fenders stick out like a sore thumb on the white paint. The black basalt metallic looks cleaner to me, but I'm kind of tired of black after 4 years with my basalt black GT3. Can anyone convince me that white is the way to go?

I was torn between GT silver and white, went w/ white for a more "sporty" vs. "classic" look. I agree, the intake design looks worse than the 997, but it's one of those elements that emphasizes the width of the rear, especially on a white car where the curves of the hips aren't as apparent.
I'm biased though, I'm too OCD to ever own another black car. Also, I'm getting red int w/ deviating black carpet to break it up.

I ended up going with sapphire blue ... To me that color, yellow and red are really the only 'bold' colors available ... and that's what I was after. The others are subdued. Black and white are awesome colors for these cars but I too am done with black (have cayman r black now). I am at the car wash way too often!

Only as you have asked for opinions. If you want to be interesting, get red or yellow, if you want to be boring, get silver. I just can't understand white or black on a sports car. Black is impossible to keep clean. White is the most common vehicle color out there regardless of vehicle type or brand, so if goal is to blend in, then may be.

Enjoyed reading the replies. I have been infatuated with white ever since the GT3RS 4.0 was featured in white. I think I will go for it. Time for something different
And aamersa, I agree that red or yellow are more exciting colors for a sports car, but I don't want to be quite so obvious in the quiet suburbs of Wisconsin. If I lived in SoCal or South Beach, I'd be all about guards red with black rims (and yes I get the irony that if I didn't want to be "obvious," I shouldn't be rolling to work in a 180k 911)

Not attracting unwanted attention from either the police or the public has always been my goal -
The great thing about the Porsche 911 is that even with a new very expensive 911, the general public can't
tell it from a model 50 years old - They have no idea if it is a brand new car, or you just washed and waxed an old one. Nice!!!!
