Default Price check on 991.1 Turbo S

just sold my 991.1 carrera s.. looking at this 991.1 turbo s, 200k msrp, 77k miles, asking 109k, anyone have any intel/thoughts/suggestions, is it a good buy? it shows great buy on carfax with a “minor” accident but everything else checks out.

thanks fellow rennlisters

At first blush it seems a bit spendy with the miles and the damage report but there are a few cars with that many miles in that price range (there are also a few below $100k with similar miles). Based on the carfax it appears to have been maintained regularly. Would want to check the status of PCCB life. Will you be able to see/drive it in person before you buy or get a PPI? Otherwise if that all checks out and it's the spec you want, go for it (though I would try and negotiate closer to $100k). Good luck!

Looks pretty well taken care of (as per the CarFax records)...and also predominantly a California car except for that stint in NJ.

With that mileage I'd see if they can come down on the price a little...

Good to know the front lip works/inflates from the photos. I would also ask for higher resolution photos of the interior and outer details.

Good luck!

Seems a bit pricey to me, given the miles and the damage. Even if minor. You can get a lower-mile car with no damage for less money on BaT or CaB. Then again, if this car is local to you there's a lot to be said for seeing it in person before buying, maybe even getting a PPI.

If you are a cash buyer, lurk at BAT, PCARMARKET, and Cars and Bids. It pays to be patient and control the emotion of excitement.

This, you can find a cleaner car for the same money. On any of them, look at the charge pipes on the turbos, that's where leaks can be visible/drip down.

Looks to be a relatively clean car. If this is local to definitely check it out.
  • Don't be afraid of the milage. Mine has 92K and running strong. Good news is you can put many more miles on and it will have minimal affect on future value.
  • PPI is always a good idea. Another is to see if they will let you borrow the key, take it to a Porsche dealer and they can pull up service records for the car.
  • DOUBLE CHECK THAT THIS IS A TURBO S AND NOT A TURBO. Rear is debagged and it does not have center lock wheels. This could be new buyer preference in a factory build. It will say Turbo S in the gauge cluster.
  • Always try to negotiate a lower price but if they are firm and the car checks out, $109K is not a bad price.
Best of luck in your search

Seems to be a true S with the front plastic parts on the nose and TurboS on the tach...but I can't make out if the lip says TurboS versus Turbo.

Always good to double check in person, good luck!

My concern would be the mileage in combination with the ceramic brakes.
They typically last between 75 and 100,000 miles and will set you back say 20 to 25,000 or so, most likely not covered by warranty.
Do not worry too much about the seller not being flexible on price, nobody really would give you a price over the phone without you being physically there and seriously ready to buy.

My PCCBs have 65k miles with some track days and nearly all mountain road spirited driving and show virtually no wear when checked by Porsche.

OP...my personal opinion is the price is fair. I personally mod all my cars so I look for those already with mods as the P-Tax is real. Others prefer stock, but dont be fooled. Stock when listed does not mean it was stock while owned. Good news is these cars have very few issues. I wouldnt worry at all either way after a PPI. Good luck and enjoy the search.
