Default Turbo oil leak from passenger side turbo

I went to see this 2014 991.1 turbo that had been barely driven a 100km in the last 2 years. 109k km. Full Porsche service history. The car looks very clean except for the passenger side turbo pipe that has a lot of fresh oil on it. There was no oil drops on the floor where the car was parked. Car drives and sounds solid. Looks clean but the oil leak concerns me, any idea on what it could be? Thanks for the help

Welcome! This visual you point out is a common issue on many 991 turbos. It is a topic that has a few threads here on Rennlist - just search "oil leak" and you will find quite a few. Many dissect the root cause and you will know more by reading those.

In call cases it's the turbo/intercooler boost pressure hose that can leak a little bit at one end. Mine recently had this and the hose was replaced at the dealer under no charge from my CPO warranty.

Porsche has a new hose with an updated clamp design, but there might still be oil in the tube from time to time. Some owners clean out the hose during every oil change.

All in all - no biggie...but you can certainly update the tube! Best of luck!

Hmmmm.....I had the same problem, the dealer changed the hose, the leak persisted and they eventually had to change the "EGR" valve located at the top of the engine.
Some say the motor has to be dropped to change this part, my dealer said it was a matter of removing parts off the top.
Goodluck. hope it's not the top valve.

Yep, on 991.1s that hose, which is connected to the air/oil separator, had a single seal, which leaked commonly. Porsche redesigned the hose with a double seal, and it's a simple replacement.

I noticed my 2014 TTS w/ 47K miles looked identical to the OP picture about 18 months ago I had the hose replaced under the CPO program, and it's been leak-free ever since. The air/oil separator is on the passenger side of the car, which is why you don't see it on the driver's side. It's also common to see an oil soaked hose, but no drips on the floor.

There are many threads here with pictures of identical leaks, so it is very common. In some sense, that hose is functioning as an oil "catch can" of sorts.
