Yes, a 991.2 DSC controller is compatible with another 991.2 regardless of model . The recommended tuning parameters may (or may not) be different.
The 991.1 and 991.2 DSC controllers are different and not compatible.

I have no idea. I never viewed that as a desirable add-on.
We currently have 3 convertibles, and for all kinds of reasons, the only times I want the top to go up and down is with me in the car. It only goes down as I begin a drive, and it always get's closed before I park and leave a car.

I love being able to control the windows and roof with my key. Walking up to a 150 degree cabin and rolling down the windows before I get there is great. It's more of how you use your car, I'll leave it in the drive way with the window and top down, from inside my house I can secure the car for the night or if it starts raining.. Super convenient. Again but for everyone.
