Default Front trunk emergency release handle electrical plug removal

As the title states, anyone have the secret for removing the small white plug from the back of the emergency handle in the Frunk? This is the handle on the passenger side inside in the Frunk. I messed with it for 20 minutes today to remove the black trunk lining from the compartment, and for the life of me I can’t find a tab or anything to push in to allow the connector and 2 wires to be removed from the handle housing. What am I missing? Tried small screwdrivers in the connection slot and all but it’s locked in there. Any help from the forum team would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

In the absence of more knowledgeable input ...

On my 997 you must pull off the rubber grommet that goes around the frunk liner, take out some securing plugs, pull the liner back away from the body where the lever is, and then push in on some clips to remove the lever. The connector on the attached switch is flimsy and very difficult to remove without breaking things.

I just don't understand why Porsche can make 15 connectors the same with a small tab to depress and then make one different .

Thanks for the input. I may just cut the wires and solder them back

Be warned, those wires are very fragile, as is the switch ... That is, if it's anything like the 997.

Some years ago, I came up with a 997 mod to attach a bicycle brake cable to the bottom of the lever on the frunk release latch and route this (cable in shroud) to behind the right side light (the shroud prevents the cable from getting stuck). This allows an easy access point to open the frunk should your battery fail. Why do I mention this? I'll be checking into the feasibility of this mod on a friend's 991 TTS later this month. I'll look at the emergency release handle while I'm in there.

I finally got it. Sometimes you just got to use brute force and reconcile that you can fix it if it breaks. There are no tabs on this connector…needle nose pliers and force worked.

Congrats. Sounds like courage and a sense of abandon were the required tools as well as the pliers. Well done, and thanks for the confirmation.

I can't tell you how many times I've danced close to or crossed over the line between "more force needed to separate, ah... got it!" and "oh ****."
