Hello All,

I'm new to Porsche, but an old track dog. Looking to do DE/TT events with PCA. I've read through the Zone 8 Rules booklet and it looks like I need harnesses to run these events.

I would appreciate thoughts from anyone who has gone through the harness/seat/roll bar configuration to get advice on best options.

I'm not ready to create a full track car w/ my new 991.2 TTS yet.

thanks in advance,

I'm very interested in this question as well. My GT-R came with seats that had harness pass-throughs. The Turbo seats don't have that. I was thinking I could use a Simpson Hybrid HANS device, but still would much prefer to have a harness to avoid sliding around in the car under high G load. Like you, I'm trying not to turn my 991 into a fully prepped track car since my GT-R ended up almost an exclusive track car.

Huh… I guess that’s how CA PCA regions filter potential participants. If you don’t want to spend a couple K-bucks on harnesses No Track Soup For You!

NER region requires factory 3-point or better (for coupes, cab’s a bit more complicated.)

I would reach out to the hosting region and ask for their requirements as regions are not required to use the Zone's rules.

"These rules are applicable to all events declared to be Zone 8 events through mutual agreement amongst the regional and zone officials. While not required, regions are encouraged to use these rules for their regional events as well."

I think the issue is the TT. For DE, harnesses are generally not required at the DE events I've attended on the east coast.

I have run with the Zone 8 PCA DE events with my TTS for the last two years. You can run your car the way it is. No requirements for a Harness. If your in Arizona by chance this coming weekend there is a three day DE event at the Podium Club in Casa Grande.
