Manually operate the rear wing?
Hi. On my 991 Turbo -14, a larger aftermarket wing has been installed and because of that, raising and lowering have been turned off or disconnected, i.e. it cannot be operated with the button in the cockpit and it does not raise from speed either. The car is in my garage and I want to remove the rear bumper, but it is not possible as the wing cannot be removed. Unfortunately, I can't get hold of the person who rebuilt the car and installed the wing, so it becomes a bit of a guessing game instead. So, is it possible to manually operate the wing or is it necessary to connect a computer to the system in order to activate the system again. Is it possible to reach the wiring to the wing to see if any contacts have been pulled out? I have checked to see if any fuses have been removed but this is not the case. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Peter,
this is the tricky stuff with all of the electronics and messing with the original design. What you're essentially attempting to do is put the wing in Service mode where it's raised high enough to access the Torx head that secures the spoiler to the uprights that extend up.
You should be able to remove the rear spoiler without it being in service mode, but whether or not you have enough room to get a ratchet with a Torx head beneath the spoiler to remove it will be the issue.
Pop the lower covers off the spoiler and see if you have enough room. See this video for reference.

The Porsche service computer (PIWIS) can manually raise and lower the rear wing, but my guess is that if it doesn't raise or lower with the console button, PIWIS ain't going to raise it either...
Pull the engine cover, fans, and the two side covers and see if you can spot a disconnected connector. I can't remember where the spoiler drive connector is, but it's in there somewhere. Hopefully it's just pulled apart, but if you are also not getting any warnings, something else might have been done.

Perhaps the same trick could raise it...?

So, the problem is solved with the help of tips from experts. It turns out that the current has been completely cut off to the wing so that it cannot be raised. Possibly due to the fact that it is much larger than the original and that they thought about fasteners and durability, or that they simply thought it would have looked better with the wing folded down. However, the three contacts found under the plastic cover, on the right under the engine cover, the upper one controls the rear wing, among other things. Separate the connector and connect 12v to the two cables that are red/black and red/brown and the wing will go up, switch the poles with 12v and the wing will go down
However, I discovered something very nice.... When the fans and other plastic covers in the engine compartment were removed, I discovered that the car had an IPD Y-pipe as well as an IPD Intake plenum. In addition to that, there was also a CAI from Boost Logic installed. I think the numbers on the upcoming tune will be really good
