Red List Results and Year End Wrap up for 2018 TTS and 2017 TT
The final Redlist race at Famoso Drag Strip was moved from Dec 3 to Dec 10 due to very rainy weather forecast for Dec 3. We had great air with DA's starting around 600 feet and peaking at around 1300 feet. Track prep was decent although not as great as it has been for prior events due to the shortage of traction compound. Some racers told me a couple of events in Vegas had recently been cancelled due to the track not being able to get traction compound.
It was our first chance to run the 2017 TT in the full 1/4 mile. Unfortunately we started getting a code P2073 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Mass Air Flow. I was able to clear the code and the car made the 133 mile drive without the code resurfacing. However, since my daughter started running the car at the track the code started popping up again and would resurface shortly after clearing it. In the end it turned out that the passenger plenum boot had slipped off. However, she did get some runs in with the car with a best of 10.068 secs @ 135 mph (time slip below). Without the boost leak maybe the car would have squeaked into the 9.9s @ 136/137 mph. Hard to say. That's based on some extrapolation from prior 1/8 mile performance figures. Nonetheless, 10.0s is very impressive for a 2017 Turbo with a GMG exhaust, IPD Plenum and Y Pipe, Sam's inlet tubes and CSF intercoolers and of course an @SamboTT@ByDesign tune
My 2018 TTS ran consistent 9.6s and although I only got runner up at this event, my win in August and runner up prior to that in March were enough to give me the overall Redlist points championship, so I'm very happy about that. To be able to do this on a car that is driven to the track and on DOT tires makes me very happy. Almost every other competitor has full drag slicks and a trailered car. So thanks of course to @SamboTT@ByDesign for giving me such a consistent and reliable package! For those who aren't familiar, my car has a GMG 200 cel exhaust, BMS intercoolers, IPD Plenum and Y Pipe, Sam's inlet tubes and meth kit and of course a tune from Sam.
Some notes from the event. There was a Tesla Plaid running consistent 9.3s to 9.4s @ 144/145 mph. Several Dodge Demons were running in the 9.1 to 9.4 sec range. An old Supra won the quickest import title with a 7.2 second run. Also we had a friend run our base 2020 Cayenne and it ran consistent 13.2s @104/105 mph on Map 3 of a JB4 with a mix of 91 octane and VP 101 race fuel.
During the downtime this winter I plan to take the stock S turbos off my car and put them on the 2017 TT which. should put it in the high 9,7s to 9.8s depending on conditions. Sam is working on a turbo upgrade for the 2018 TTS that can hopefully nudge me down a couple of tenths in the 1/4 without breaking my rear end or needing to upgrade the clutch. I'll leave it to Sam to explain what turbos he wants to try out on my car.

Hard fought Championship !
Congrats Champ !
That 25 back half shows the boost loss on the other P. Still ran well leaking, but definitely had more in it.
What does your 9.6 run 60 to130 ?
Can't wait to see the secret turbo upgrade.......more P O W A H

I've not brought my Dragy to many races but 5.5s to 5.6s for 60 to 130 mph as part of a 1/4 mile run is what I've seen.
And yes, I'm excited to see what Sam has in works for the turbo upgrade

Congratulations Kim it’s been really fun working with you and learning from all your experience. Well earned! You made us proud.
Stage five is in the building. Your car and Jude will be first and we will do some testing and try to get towards 900 wheel and over 150 trap. See what you can do with that!

Thank you Payam. I know you'll be working more on your car's set up over the winter and we look forward to your company at the next 1/2 mile No Fly Zone race at Bakersfield in March!

My daughter Annaliese and I did try the big money 1/8 West Coast race at Famoso in November and couldn't get past the first or second round. During time runs the announcer said that they recorded 21 perfect 0.000 lights and 19 0.001 lights. One dragster got 0.000, 0,000 ad 0.001 on 3 separate runs in a row. So dragsters with all the electronics (delay boxes, throttle stops etc) are in another league. So for example to get into the 16 car shoot out you needed an 8 thousands package which means the total of your reaction time and deviation from your dial in had to be 8 thousands of a second or less. so my package was 27 thousands of s second. Great for Red List type cars or Summit Points in Pro but not competitive for big money racing.
