You'll spend more time trying to work around them than just removing them. They're super easy to remove. IIRC, it just 4-5 bolts and the whole thing comes out as a "unit".

I did my plugs/coils while doing Kline headers/exhaust and intercoolers so it wasn't bad at all. I did pull the turbo hanger bolt so I could move the turbo a little. Needed the space for that rear plug.

I was doing all kind of upgrades including the IC’s so I did it while I had them off. It did make it easier but it’s not necessary. They also come off easily once the bumper is off so it’s no biggie if you have to pull them if you can’t get the rears out, especially the drivers side which is the toughest one IMO

I would recommend removing them just to see if you have oil in there. Happened to me last night. I'm not super super worried, but it was alarming and I'm glad we took the extra step so we are now aware of the issue.

Thank you to the OP!! Your instructions were very helpful.
Fortunately, the plugs practically looked brand new. Replacing them anyway just so it's on our service schedule.

awesome to hear! Always a good idea to change them….. I speak from experience where one of my plugs came apart in my Accord and lunched the entire motor 🤦🏼‍♂️😆

This is what I got. They have "oem" ones but I believe it's the same part number, just with an added cost by calling it "oem."

Make sure the plugs are for the Turbo not an N.A. 991. They are different.
