Was there a difference in the 2017 vs 2018/2019 Turbo S ?

Mechanically I don’t believe so. But apparently the factory tune on the 2019s has about 40 more HP.

I specifically bought a 2017 so I could go full bolt ons immediately.

With stage 3 parts and a tune, you get GT2rs power with AWD and more subtle looks.

On a quick search, 18 and 19 both have 580 HP and 516 lbs torque.

The *improved* 2019 tune (and maybe the same for the Exclusive models too?) seems like an urban legend. I've not seen objective data posted about this, but I haven't purposely looked for it either. If it's true and I had a 2019, I would still get an ECU tune. If it's not true - same result. In any case, the ECU tune for the 2017 and 2018 (probably true for 2019 as well) cars is one of the most inexpensive, least invasive ways to get a significant increase in performance on this platform.

And the 17 does not have the same power?

The urban legend that '19s and the exclusive edition cars have the same ecu/tune definitely has some merit based on some investigative work that's been done by forum members... this topic has been thoroughly beat up here: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...-stock-14.html
I have a still stock '19 tts and the "feels" and acceleration rate this car provides does feel like that of a car that provides north of 600hp at the crank and not the advertised 580 that Porsche says all 991.2 should have minus the exclusive edition cars.

But.... I'm also in the camp that says unless there's a dyno chart that proves otherwise (19 stock vs 17-18 stock) on the same dyno in the same conditions, the myth stays as a myth. When strangers see my car at a cars and coffee and ask how much power the car makes, I just say "around 600"

put it on sport mode or use manual mode. that will help resolve your issue. I am assuming your previous daily driver was a twin turbo V8.
