Wow, that is beautiful! I would have paid 160-170 for that one all day and not even think about a 992. Congrats on your purchase. I think the only reason why this decision is difficult is because the used market is so high now. Hopefully soon the 991.2s will settle back to the 150-160 range, makes the delta much larger.

My plan was get a Cayenne Coupe GTS and a 991.2 but I'm having such a hard time finding one that ticks the boxes. Where was that car listed? I've been looking everywhere and never noticed it.

I’m pretty sure I found it on car gurus. It was sold by Bentley/ Astin dealership in Tyson’s corner VA.

I just went by to drive it as it was the only local 991.2 tts for sale at the time( about 3 months ago)

when I got there I fell in love with the color combo, really was a striking color in person, and basically brand new, even smelled new.

But.... I brought my wife by and she hated it, so I pulled the trigger on a 2017 with 20k miles for around 135k from Cali. Cant beat a blk/blk turbo s. My childhood dream machine

Congrats on your purchase. I'm going to focus back on finding a 991.2, should be able to find a Miami Blue or solid color combo for around 160k.

Default 911 Prices

Problem for buyers right now is lack of supply. Covid is likely a part of the cause for increased demand and definitely a big contributor to decreased supply. And, of course, the market is reacting accordingly. Another example: one dealer here in Canada was recently offered by another dealer a new 992S Targa for $20k over RETAIL. The 911 market is more than just a bit nutty right now. With s few units - new or used - for dealers to sell, finding ANY really good 911 at a good price will be a challenge.

Very true. I am also in the car business and the used units we sell are all about 10-20% more expensive this year then prior years due to lack of supply and increased demand.

I have the luxury of being able to wait so I suppose I just have to wait it out. All of the 991.2 Turbo S I am interested in are about 170k+ and no room for discount. At that price the 230k 992 Turbo S doesn't seem as bad. Much rather spend 150k for a 991.2 and then have budget for another toy.

Although not quite what the OP is looking for, I think this car is noteworthy because I've not seen a clean title, 1 owner 991.2 TTS for such a low price before:

https://www.brooklynvolkswagenny.com...gurus_listings

Given the price, I would expect someone interested in mods to seriously consider a car like this and worry less about the mileage.

Thank you for the heads up.

Too many miles for me, looking for sub 25k preferably. Also want Miami Blue or a PTS.

The price is cheap on this one but it is a stripper, MSRP is lowest I’ve seen on a 991.2 Turbo S.

Why? When you can buy a .1 with no miles (in comparison) for less?

with the current tight supply situation I'm seeing a number of cars coming onto the market that have issues. An odd colour, high miles, a prior accident, etc. In this time of tight supply, owners of these cars know that it's a good time to shift them and buyers will need to be wary.

This, r8 market is similar too. I also think with spring coming and better weather everyone wants something and the supply is slim. I just looked at the prices of .1 TTS and there are cars listed for more money than they would have sold for 2 years ago.

I think there are buyers out there that are looking for a good sports car value that will respond well to mods. They may see it in the 991.2 TTS and the standard enhancements over the 991.1 TTS, especially if the price is low enough for the 991.2 TTS.

On the other hand if the goal for the car really isn't about mods, then a .1 with less miles for the same price makes more sense. Case in point:

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=296896990

For the same price, that 991.1 TTS has half the miles of the 991.2 TTS I posted earlier *and* the 991.1 has CPO! My guess is the majority of buyers would choose the 991.1 TTS being sold by the Porsche dealer with CPO attached.

Points taken and let me assure you that the .1 responds quite well to mods...yes, there are a few advantages (like the fuel system apparently) to modifying the .2 but not enough to pay considerably more IMO, nor would most people even miss the enhancements of the .2.

I picked up a .1 with 14k miles over a year ago for $112k. It's now at stage 3, 100 octane and is fast as hell, with low miles. Would I have preferred a newer, .2? Sure but at the time, the similar .2 was at least $40k more. All that money "saved" completely paid for the stage 3 power modifications on my .1, plus wheels/rubber and some interior mods (with at least $20k left over). I don't use the stereo and don't care about apple car play. Aesthetically, aside from the rear tail lights, I don't feel like I am missing anything over .2 myself. As far as the interior, the only thing I preferred on the .2 was the steering wheel...so I installed a .2 GT3 RS steering wheel.

I get that some will always simply choose "newer". IMO however, if you're looking for the best deal (especially if you're going to mod it), it's still the low mile .1. To your point, yes, I would undoubtedly take a much lower mile, CPO .1 over a high mile, non CPO .2. Any day of the week.

Indeed there are low mileage 991.2 TTS listing for high $190K's right now...

Yeah it’s crazy.

Personally I like the 992 design better, my build is 230k. (PTS) and If it’s a 50k delta on a 2017 or 2018 then I’m leaning towards a 992.

My SA can get me 992 Turbo S build but not until end of the year so I’m hoping I can find a 991 for around 160k and less otherwise it’s going to be a 992.
