No data transfer, however with the Magsafe charging mount combined with one of the wireless convertors for wired CarPlay, you now have charging and a phone mount with CarPlay without plugging anything in.
Thanks - I'm still trying to figure out the best of breed for the wireless mod. Honestly, the GT3 is loud and fun enough that I rarely use the radio... so occasional map on the big screen is barely a need.

I have a wired carplay in my 996 Turbo (aftermarket obviously).... My favorite and typical mode is to hop in, pop the phone on the magsafe charger/holder, NOT connect the carplay lightning connector, and run my streaming audio to the stereo over bluetooth and Waze natively on the iPhone.
I'm not really a fan of the Waze UI when it is displayed on a carplay head unit, so this works best for me, and keeps the phone fully charged.

As above, I used the rennline mount bracket and added a different head to it and ran the cord to the armrest. Or you could just double side tape a MagSafe charger to the rennline mount as is. I have the aftermarket apple car play and it is wireless. Works great.
