Default BBS and F1

As of 2021, BBS will be the sole supplier to F1. As I have said before, engineering vs. ….

P.S. All of the RSR wheels being run at Daytona are BBS Motorsport as are the Weissach Pack magnesium wheels.

BBS makes good wheels. Many sets I’ve bought in the last 20 years.

Big contract. Great quality wheels...but can't keep up with design and styling of the likes of HRE, Forgeline, etc.

They have a few models I really like (that are all astronomically priced of course) but almost every affordable set of BBS wheels are blah.

I had BBS F1's that came on my 996 turbo and they were sexy wheels. I'd never pay $10-12k for them new myself though. For that kind of money, I'd buy HRE.

why would you buy HRE (I assume the LW's) over FI-R's? Similar price range.. They even look similar. I'm sorta down to those two finalists.

I dunno, I just like the overall designs, looks, finish options and HRE branding better personally. Finish options is a big one for me. I like bold, brushed tinted finishes and BBS doesn't offer anything but brushed clear (on a couple of their models), to my knowledge. Most of their finishes are boring/bland.

I have no issues with Germany, obviously lol, but I would likely prefer supporting a US made wheel mfg.

Also, I associate the BBS brand pairing best with BMW and HRE pairing better on more exotic supercars like Porsche, Ferrari, etc.

With that said, the BBS F1-R is their sexiest wheel. I just would prefer HRE on my Porsche. Tastes vary.

Excited to see the 2021 cars, especially with some 18" BBS on them!
