Steven, do you guys adjust launch rpm with your car?
Reason I ask is that my stock 2015 TTS really launches hard/spins at 5500 rpm or so stock, at least it did at the track, haven't tried a launch on the street yet.
I'm wondering if lowering the launch rpm could help with the 60 foot if it comes out of the hole a bit softer.

Here is a “it’s a small world observation “. I think you owned a Vette I built.

but that airstrip that day was insanely slippery...tons of dust blowing across the track and big white painted patches for the runway.
was my first event so I have no comparison but everybody who was there that’s experienced said the traction on that tarmac was exceptionally bad...I know for sure I hook up better on the street than I did there

I feel your pain. I was a long time Vette owner up until spring of 2019. I got so frustrated when my 2018 C7Z went into limp mode during some spirited driving on the way to Lauberge Casino. That was the third C7Z that I had. The dealer told me they had cured the overheating with the A8's. Not true. And to tell you the truth, I have always harbored a secret desire to own a 911. I just couldn't justify the money. But once I got used to spending over 100K on the Z's, it came easier. I bought a 2015 TT, and have Sam's stage iv built by Modern Aircooled. Never going back. But when I traded the last Z in I had less than 10000 on the clock, it was a high option car, and I got 65 for it. So, I do feel your pain.

I just have a hard time selling the vette for next to nothing. You put so much blood, sweat, and tears into building then and tuning them only to have them depreciate the way they do. I decided to get a lift and keep it to drive in the warm summer months...even if its just for cars and coffee.

Lingenfelter... very nice. I would have built it a lift too.

Well, that's a C6 Z06, so that's definitely a keeper.
Very nice.

Just curious what you mean by boogie button.
My owners manual seems to read that 2psi overboost is available in both Sport and Sport Plus(?)
About the vette, I built my first 2002 TT C5 Z06 and later sold it, then in 2017 I bought a previously built Quicksilver 2001 Z06 that had been worked on by first LPE (TT), then Vengeance did a full 4L65 swap on it.
Does that ring a bell?
we launch in sport versus sport plus to lower the launch rpm...it actually hooks up really well on the street, and I think it would on a prepped track too
but that airstrip that day was insanely slippery...tons of dust blowing across the track and big white painted patches for the runway.

OK, I wasn't aware that Sport launches at a lower rpm, I'll have to try that once the weather warms back up in the spring. Car probably won't be coming out much now with winter coming.

That C5 ZO6 was my build. I had it, an Anniversary GrandSport C6 and a 2017 ZO6. The C5 was by far my favorite. I missed it a few times after the sell. Only thing I would have changed is the bushings that Vengenance installed right before I sold it. It it were AWD I would still own it.

Good to see you come by it honestly...

Still all stock.
My goal in the spring is to get back to the track and get the car all stock into the 10's at whatever mph it runs, I'm estimating 126-127, hoping for 10.8's or so.
I need to lower tire pressures because when the car went 11.16 @125.8 a few weeks back, I was running stock pressures at around 39/49 f/r, which was way too high, so the car only pulled a 1.83 60', which I know I can improve on.
The car did run 102.5 at the 1/8th on the runs, which I personally think is pretty fast for a stock car.

In a 991.2 TTS Sport Plus brings max boost and Max rpm without any other action. Sport drops the launch rpm and the boost down, so when I use a Sport Launch, I push the Sport Response button “boogie” after it hooks to boost up.

That was a very clean, nice example of a C5 Z.
I agree about the bushings but the chassis was nice and tight.
I had some difficulty letting it go but it was the right decision because now I'm in a 991 TTS!!

you could blow the tires off so easily and controllably in that car that it just made it a blast to drive...I was like a surgeon with the wheels spinning in that thing
had coil overs at one point but the best setup for that car was the simplist...lowered, stiffer adjustable Hodgkis sway bars, sport shocks, and the stiffer track leaf springs...and better seats...those cars are fun and cheap to do stuff to
