Default Launch Control

Sunny spring day here in Northern California, and I finally had a perfect opportunity to try launch control. Can't quite say I've experienced anything quite like it. I think it warped my brain. Wow!

It's amazing. When I have the kids in the car and I'm at a traffic light, I always use it. Unfortunately that is less than 10 times a year!

For me it’s the way the PDK goes through the gears with launch control. It’s like a Superbike.

i have it in my manual Z06 as well but I imagine the way the 911 turbo does it is a million times better with the PDK, one of the big reasons I’m eventually moving on to a 991.

I did it the other day with my winter wheel and tire set up. Let’s say tires make a big difference.

Try it with Toyo R888R tires and upgraded turbos. 99.9% of cars don't stand a chance at the light.

That's true even with N0 tires and the normal turbos.

That is my experience. The TTS is much more planted (and therefore harder launching) vs the Z06’s rear-end getting a little squirrelly. Plus, I never really got comfortable with the No-Lift Shift on the Z (although 0-60 was very straightforward as first gear topped out at 66).

thats what I look forward to! My Z06 is about 750 hp and I live in the PNW so I have trouble getting enough heat in the tires so I’m squirrelly all the time!! Yes, no lift **** is a bit odd feeling until you get confident and comfortable with it.
