Not me. The more a vehicle covers for me, the less I like it. It's why I absolutely have to have a manual transmission in a sports car. The level of challenge and involvement in playing the clutch/shifter/gears like a Stradivarius is worth more than the data attained by a stopwatch.

I think I wrote that wrong really. I just meant we love to feel more engaged and forcing the inputs more vs. the newer / better cars sometimes. I totally understand where you are coming from.
But sometimes it's nice to have a car that does a good bit for you and feel "safer" when deciding to wick it up.
Short little 3 min vid by GF filmed of us going with the Yellow ZO6. I had her and her daughter in the car so this pace was all I felt comfortable doing (dang quick pace even though vids never do it justice).
Down in Mexico before going to NC of course.
Love this car!!

But...I’m still not trading my 991.1 TT for a Fiat 124 Abarth.

If you want a 'brown-pants' visceral experience drive a Ferrari 308/328. No power anything. Flawed muscle memory for power anything can kill you. And, if, after an hour, you have enough energy to do anything more involved that sit and drink, then you're a real man...
Seriously fun, but requires 100% concentration at all times.

And you are correct, it would have to be a HUGE powerball win to be able to afford one and have much left over!!
I'd certainly settle for the 288GTO. I believe someday it'll reach similar numbers.

So basically what it boils down to is, that we all like to drive cars that make US feel like we're better than we are. lol
We like to feel more engaged to the car and the inputs it takes to make said car do what we want.
Funny that we enjoy driving something sometimes that isn't as good and capable as a newer / better car.
I like both really. My TTS was simply awesome in the mountains and even on my first day in the curves with it, I see how much better the car is than I am (at the moment). Driving fast and aggressive has always come natural to me (cars and especially on motorcycles) and I've always felt I was born to be a "racer" of some kind, I just never had the time / budget to realize the dream of the skills I "feel" I have. This TTS and many other cars have allowed me to experience some of it though.

I used to do lots of Track Days on my sport bikes. Getting older and all of my broken bones & surgeries to put me back together have caused me to have to give up sport bikes. My knees can't take it anymore, or even bend far enough to get my toes out of the way at full lean.
I also wanted a devoted track bike but never had the funds for two.
My favorite track was Barber Motorsports Park in AL.
Me on my completely stock 2004 R1 (except a Penske 2 way rear shock sprung for my heavy A$$ - 270 lbs. in my gear) around 2004-2005.
