Buying a 2014 with CPO
Decided I need the 2 yr CPO but I see only about half the 2014 TTS on the Porsche USA website are Porsche Approved. Do the dealers pick and choose, is it worth asking why a car hasn't got it or do I give anything thats at a Porsche dealership a wide birth if I can't get an extended warranty with it. It appears you pay a premium at a PNA dealership that is a little negated if you can't get peace of mind. Before looking I figured something as bulletproof and relatively new as a 2014 tts would easily qualify.

Just call... most of them are or can be CPO'd. I've seen the same and when I inquired about the car it did in fact have CPO. If you see something you like, call them. I'm willing to bet it is or can be CPO'd.

Dealer has to pay for CPO. No point in paying for CPO while a car sits waiting for a buyer.
(And don’t kid yourself that any dealer does the required CPO inspections before or after paying for CPO. That you need to do yourself as part of PPI.)

So if they're offering a CPO they haven't necessarily done the inspection, they just think it will pass if they put it through it? I can't quite understand the fine print, can I buy at a non Porsche dealer and then get it CPO'd or do I have to purchase from a Porsche approved dealer?

Possible to get a P dealer to buy it from non P dealer and get it CPO'd but you have to find a willing dealer and guarantee you will buy it. The P dealer needs to buy it from the non P dealer and then CPO. They cannot CPO a car they don't own. They can sell you a P warranty but it's not CPO.
The other comment made was don't trust the CPO checklist and the dealer saying "we did the CPO work and it's perfect." Remember a used car dealer is lying when their lips move. (This is a broad generalization and no offense to any dealers on RL)
