Default Sport Exhaust for Turbo/Turbo S

Does anyone know why the 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S cannot be optioned with a sport exhaust but the regular 991.2 can?

Dont know why on the options but simple solution - call Champion Motorsport and get a Tubi installed. I just did and the car sounds great. Docile around town and then step into it and the car sings

HI
Porsche does not offer any sports exhaust options for their big twin turbo cars. From the 2000 model 996TT to the very latest 991.2TT 2018 model year cars there is no Porsche factory upgrade.
FYI
I bought virtually all of these cars since the summer of 1999 in order to design, engineer and dyno develop sports exhaust for these wonderful cars. From simple catbypass pipes or HJS German highflow 93% to 95% of a straight pipe catalytic converters that simply bolt-onto the rear factory Porsche muffler to Highflow HJS German catalytic converters to valvetronic rear pipes check out Fabspeed Motorsport.
I made detailed explanation Videos showing and explaining everything so gentlemen can make an educated decision.
My emissions legal favorite is HJS german highflow catalytic converters bolted to our 70MM 2.75" X pipe and a set of Quad tips. WE actually have 2 cars in the shop getting the system I just drescribed BUT with valvetronic pipes to the tips for a bypass sound that adds power and sports car sound.
ask for Alec, Phil or Joe Fab

If you're looking for a sportier sound and more power, check out our 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S Valvetronic Exhaust.

We utilize premium T304L Stainless Steel which is fabricated and mandrel bent in-house along with Helical Valves from the UK which give you a true mild-to-wild. Available as either a Catbypass option or with top-of-the-line German HJS 200 Cell Sport Cats.

VALVES CLOSED: Enjoy our signature Supersport exhaust sound. Exhaust flow is channeled through Fabspeed's signature 63.5mm Quad-Resonated X-pipe. We engineered it specifically to smooth out exhaust pulses for a sophisticated and exotic exhaust note while being as free flowing as possible. The tone is perfect for cruising around town or long highway drives.

VALVES OPEN: At the push of a button, the valves are opened and the exhaust is free to rocket straight out from the Sport Cats with an aggressive scream. The full story of Porsche's turbocharged 3.8 L flat-6 is unleashed, along with an intoxicating barrage of crackles and pops upon deceleration and downshifting. This system truly needs to be heard and felt in person to be appreciated.

On top of the intoxicating exhaust note, enjoy an additional +25whp/30ft-lbs and improved throttle/boost response. Fitment is by way of a direct bolt-on replacement with no cutting/welding required.

As Joe mentioned, we've had two 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S in recently and I can tell you from first hand experience, they sounded incredible and the power gain was noticeable.

A friend of mine installed a Fabspeed and the drone was deafening. Not a chance I'd buy one.

I had a Fabspeed system on my 991.2 Turbo S and it was great.

Porsche does not offer it because they can't seem to make anything that helps the sound while still meeting EU standards, or so they say. Something along the lines that anything they put on it hurts the efficiency of the turbos. There have been some articles about it. I went with Sharkwerks and think it's fantastic for about $1900. If Porsche could squeeze more profit out of us, I'm sure they would.

Unless you go to different cats, headers, etc. (like Fabspeed), I think you'll like the Sharkwerks, and at $1995, it's probably the most cost-effective. BUT, note that it is not valved, so what you hear is what you get. I like it and so do many others, but if you're looking for a system you can switch between more sound and less sound, you'll need to look at something else (and more money).

I think problem is heat and reliability. Turbo makes much more heat when WOT than Carrera and it's quite difficult and costly to build exhaust with valves for Turbo, yes there are some aftermarket ones available, but there is no info how they will work after 50000 miles spirited driving at Nordschelife.
I installed to my 997 turbo valves exhaust and valves literally melt out of exhaust after some trackdays.
