Random total loss of turbo boost
Hi folks,
My 2017 991.2 Turbo S Cabriolet has 6500 miles on it. It is unmodified except for a Europipe exhaust. In the last 2 months, it has lost all Turbo boost 3 times. It might be when I get on the gas hard, then abort (because of an idiot driver ahead). The boost comes right back if I turn the ignition off and on again. I don't hear any different sounds, and there are no fault codes when I read them out with a cheap OBD tool.
I will be bringing it in to my dealer soon, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing this?

Burning Brakes
I had it happen only race mode on my 2014 TTS with GIAC 2+ at the track, Champion motor sports repair it, said it was some sort of overboost senser. My car started doing it again, so i will call them monday and get a detailed explanation.

I had it happen on an onramp once, and never before or since. It's like the ECU picked up a big knock or something, and then fed in the power gradually until I had my car back. Weird.

Intake leak?
Before you loose boost, do you get "full boost" and open throttle? Pay attention to you boost gauge. If you are not building full boost or build boost too slowly, it's usually an intake leak.

These cars are so sensitive to any change in air temp, etc. a vacuum leak nowadays is going to immediately trigger a check engine light. I'm going to bet it was crappy fuel.

I had the same issue and its pretty scary but oddly there was never a cel. Dealer told me there was an overboost of +2bar at part throttle , can't remember correctly but the throttle position was some 20 / 25° at about 2500rpm. I doubt it is possible to generate +2bar boost at part throttle irl. Anyway they replaced a boost sensor and - knock on wood - all is fine now.
