Ipanema Blue or Racing Yellow on RS spec?
#17
I've seen the Ipanema blue and I agree w/ Eduardo. Ocean Jade was similar but more green than blue and also was not well received. In the metallic blue category I always liked Diamond Blue which was used for the 87-88 anniversary 911s. If there is a limited PTS (that's not really PTS) list then you will be instructed to want to see if you don't see what you want.

'Nordic Gold'???? Oh, that is it, you are beyond crazy....you are certifiable. Take your 'happy' medicines and call '911' right away. And whatever you do, don't listen to this song...it's about you!
"And They're coming to take me away Ha Ha
They're coming to take me away ho ho he he ha ha
to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time,
and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their
clean white coats and they're coming to take me away ha ha"
And if the 'white coats' guys don't want to pick you up, the 'PTS Fashion Police' that I have organized in all 50 states and 3 provinces (so far) in Canada will for sure come & collect you!

Y'all are killing me and my Ipanema dreams. :-)
I did get an allocation for nov build and do have a meeting set for tomorrow to spec and order. But to your point Eduardo not sure about PTS timing.
I was also thinking gulf blue which is historic and on the broader PTS list plus it was on famous 917 in 70 when I was born...
But for a real crazy option. Nordic Gold!!

Hey Eduardo, I was at a Porsche event this evening and the factory rep said they now have a new paint to sample shop just coming online that will help the backlog of cars and customers wanting PTS cars. What have you heard....

I have heard nothing....and it's not for lack of trying. Melissa and Matthew have not return my recent emails. Glad you are on the job reporting the news for all of us.
Any details on what he meant by a new 'paint to sample' shop? A new paint facility? These colors & corresponding primers are all applied via very sophisticated paint robots that can clean up one color in seconds and apply a totally different hue to the next car on the line. So I doubt a new paint facility is needed. What is necessary is more coordination between 'Porsche Exclusive', the outside vendors, the dealers and their customers. The current program is a disaster in the haphazard way it's currently implemented. And I will soon reveal a postscript on the last of the MY2015 gt3's which will make everyone realize how f**k up the PTS process has become!

Both are great colors though neither would be my top choice if I were PTSing an RS. Since RY was a popular color on the 1GT3, I would go Ipanema Blue. Even if IB makes the reportedly limited RS PTS list, I doubt many will choose it. Nice to have a rarer/more exclusive color in my opinion.
