The GT4 clubsport uses a minimally modified PDK from the cayman - so maybe we'll see more PDKs being raced in the future. Of all the cars being raced today, the GT4 / cayman is probably the only porsche you could say has some semblance to the car being raced with that statement being rooted in fact. The RS is marketed as a road going GT3R, but shares virtually nothing with the RSR or GT3R.

no performance car manufacturer (except maybe Lotus) likes to publish weights anymore...

It's hearsay, but I was told by a couple of 918 owners that they were told by Porsche personnel, that they read on Rennlist, that they are seriously looking at making the .2 GT3 RS in a manual. I guess uptake on the GT3 manual will help the decision.

Now that we've heard from you, that you've heard from others, that somone from Porsche has read it on here; it's more or less a certainty, as far as I'm concerned ;-)

If so, uptake likely to be a much smaller percentage than the GT3

I'll pick up a gt3 in manual just to try it in the new platform but I seriously doubt i buy RS with manual regardless. We'll see?

Can I just say that I'm still surprised the .1 Gt3 was pdk only? Who knows really at this point in RS. Porsche has proven that they make decisions model to model and can be swayed by the purists. I bet they do make an RS with manual IF and only IF they make a .2 RS. Manuals are eventually going completely away. Just a matter of time.
