I’m looking to get a lightweight one made that just attaches harness and stays hidden under the rear shelf carpet. Need my car first though...

Sign me up for one as well if you do! I'd like something lightweight, and able to install a harness to.

Best Regards,
Dave

I think this cage is rad, but I know Akro and Ti, and I am scared to know what they will charge for it. It will be worth every penny, but it will be an offensively large amount of them.

I'd like to know what it weighs...and then what it costs. It's going to be $$.

Oh and magnesium cage might be a bad idea...magnesium is very brittle...like when you flip on to the roof and it snaps into pieces...might be a good safety feature.

A titanium roll bar has to be $4K+. The inability to get the Ti roll bar with the Weissach package in the U.S. is one reason I didn't opt for the Weissach package. I would have even opted for it if they would just box it and ship it with car but I was told that won't happen. The WP was still $18k sans roll bar that they get in Europe for the same $. It was ridiculous to pay for something that should be included but will not be. At least PAG should reduce the WP in the States by $4K or so for the lack of the roll bar here.

North America spec cars do not have the OEM mounting points for the roll cage made by Eisenmann for the Porsche Clubsport package.

To make it as painlessly bolt-on and as OEM looking as possible, buy from one of the reputable tuners who can also paint it in any color and finish to your pleasing.

Yeah, from my research your advice looks consistent. I was trying to keep as factory / OEM as possible.

I don't think the newest Magnesium alloys in larger forms (used in wheels, etc.) is flammable like those pure Mg ribbons in school...

BBi StreetCup Roll Bar is very close to OEM design, TBH well priced as well.

Get this finished in any color you like and forget about anything else.

I always wondered that. When indycar ran Mg wheels and a car would hit the wall esp on a super speedway it looked just like the bright, hot fire when the wheel face would make contact. An extreme example.

Thank you for mentioning us NCheok!!! Our bar is definitely one of the best fitting ones and easiest to install out there.

I have heard prices quoted up to $22K for an OEM WP Ti cage...my attempt at sourcing one is in the $10K range.

I have just recently learned that Porsche is requesting very limited numbers of new Ti cages and there vendor is not Akropovic for the new cages. I am not going to say who the current vendor is but they are an Aerospace/Automotive prototyping concern in Germany.
