Busy vacation day today in Chicago. Faced the throng of fans at Star Wars Celebration for work. Got out early and sampled some deep dish pizza (thanks spyerx). It was delicious.
Then wandered the city and ate Italian.

126 miles on this gloriously sunny day!
pagemill climb
old car and old barn
old car and mud; remnants of driving bless
hope u all had a chance to open the throttle today

I know we love to talk about car
buy cars
discuss options and values
but you have to go drive them.
no, some ppl think 1 hour to maybe 30 miles is a 'drive'
haha
take a 1000 mile trip.
DRIVE the **** out of the car.
you will understand the ZEN of cars.
everything else is irrelevant
my new 914/6 is cleaner than I would say ANYONE 991RS here.
on this tip. it was peppered by rocks, from tailgating damn SpyerX
killed squirrels
CRACK my windshield
dragged my speedometer cable on the pavement
damaged clutch and brake pedals
lots of chip on concourse level paint job
frankly I didnt give rat's a** about all that.
it was just FUN
great company
nice roads
and excellent fool
lots driving no value BS

Last weekend was a 300 mile trip in the Spyder covering tons of backroads at the San Diego/Mexico border. Stunning scenery and total zen carving through some very fast sweepers and tight switchbacks. Nothing else matters when you’re in that moment and that is rare and dear to me these days. Killed bugs fast and clear bra took some damage but that’s what it’s there for.

That looks like Lou Malanati's? No? (If yes, that is tourist Pizza.) And thank you for spending money in our state, we need your money!!)
Mooty, Can I play with old car pictures? I just picked up my 240Z after 2 years and a 100% nut & bolt restoration...100 mile drive and I did not break down! wow!!

Igoos: Correct. If that's tourist pizza, it was tasty regardless. Nice 240Z! Metallic blue '73 was my first car. Loved it and dream of another some day. Have you by chance seen what MZR is doing with them in the UK? I think it's a poor man's Singer 240Z but looks to be amazing work.

I know of MZR, but I went my own way. I have my own restoration guy for 20 years and I can keep him busy. Interior is all stock, exterior is all stock, motor is 3.0L w/Webers, 5 speed, custom rear, BBK, blaah blaah blaah. I am into motor/chassis stuff - things normal people don’t see.

motorcycles too.
Someone wrote a book about that once.
We should drive our cars more
and enjoy them more
and remember
that we don't take them with us.

Mooty, I admire the cleanliness discipline you give to your son Max. I've seen you post pics of your son Max clean different cars from your stable. It looks like he does it, not because you told him to do so, but I think he is a young "Gear Head." Your genes are very strong in him and without a doubt he will be a future Mooty by the time he learns how to drive.
One suggestion though just for safety of Max or even you. Your jack stands look very sturdy. However when I go do something under the car, I use my alligator jacks as a backup next to the jackstands.
Drive safe,
GT3RS-Fan1
