RSR flambe' at Silverstone
For those talking .1 4.0 beat down and "reliability of the .2 4.0 here is a bit of news that may make you reassess.
Bring your marshmallows.
Maybe they should put the .1 4.0 in the RSR which ran flawlessly in 2015 in the GT3R. They didn't catch fire last I looked.
Wha now?

He just will not go away. I even offered to admit that his RS (not every RS) is the bestest super car ever in the whole wide world. It wasn't enough.
Just wait till the .2RS gets the EXACT same engine that the .2GT3 gets. He will be saying the same tired old line .2RS is a .2RS and IS THE BESTEST EVER ENGINE EVER IN THE WHOLE SUPER WIDE WORLD.
#.2GT3 is BETTER than .1RS
# it's perfectly acceptable to say controversial, vitriolic things as long as you conclude with a just sayin' and a winky face.
For example, you are the worst person I have ever met and have zero value other than consuming my otherwise reserved oxygen. Just sayin'

That .2GT3 lump clearly did catch fire though.
Just bringing the news to the board in the face of this .2 superiority complex wave.
Just the facts.

Not sure of cause it was last month. Sure it's not major.

Sorry for throwing cold water on .2 party but .2ers are free to ignore the news.
Where were you and Grant when guys like qbix, Mr Mass an others post statements forecasting .1 4.0 issues with zero evidence of issues in over 2 years and a flawless run in the '15 GT3R? Talk about wishing ill based on nothing except self satisfaction.
In fact, Chris Harris just compare a 2 year old RS press tester with 30,000 brutal test miles that not only is still running flawlessly but was preferred by him over a new AMG GTR. Then there is Trakcar and others heavily tracking there cars not to mention rallies.
Selective reading maybe?
Hopefully the fire was caused by something simple as opposed to a weakness or
issue with the motor. Bad news for PAG with any GT car reflects on all GT cars.
Point is it will take real life use to prove this engine reliable not necessarily Motorsport usage where the engine is continually coddled by Motorsport techs day in and day out.
If the problem was caused by something simple we will likely hear about it. If it was due to serious engine failure we won't be told.
