Default Dealer said I will lose warranty coverage if I do an exhaust

So was looking at getting either the Dundon or Fabspeed Long tube race exhaust for my RS. Spoke to Porsche Trinidad about it and they said that Porsche has said that I will lose any warranty coverage if anything happens.

What feedback have you guys with the aftermarket exhausts gotten from your dealers?

My dealer installed mine. No loss of warranty. I have a CMS center muffler delete.
They have to prove the exhaust caused a failure in order to deny warranty.

I think the incentives for US Dealers is different. There are many competing for service/sales, and it is in their best interest to accommodate special requests. Although I do agree with the rationale above, things might be a little different in Trinidad. Maybe OP can ask them to install themselves?

No clue in Trinidad - can you call Porsche Latin America, Inc. and ask? They seem to manage the Trinidad & Tobago market.

Middle east is also sometimes difficult to deal with but we have many customers over there with our exhausts. If there was a big warranty issue, remove the exhaust before taking the car in is one way to handle it.

US market our exhausts are installed all the time by dealers, with no issues at all...

I wouldn't do it if my dealer told me that. But maybe contact Porsche directly to confirm.

The problem is that it is not the dealer who decides to fix the engine under the warranty.
I asked about it in Germany with regards to Akra exhaust with sport Cats. I was told that I might have troubles as exhaust is a part of engine equation. Taking that possibly to court would be a headache.
I am pretty sure that with long headers you might risk a lot if they significantly increase the output of the engine (which I doubt they do).

Get a new dealer. My dealer actually installed my exhaust. They install all sorts of aftermarket exhausts for all sorts of models.

Mine can do the same but it would be overpriced compared to non dealer shops. As long as they can stretch their hand for money everything is ok.
But we are talking here about warranty. Can you ask your dealer to get a copy of email from Porsche HQ confirming that they install aftermarket exhaust with sport cats and the warranty would not be voided? That would be interesting to see.

As discussed in 1,000's of threads a warranty cannot be voided without the burden of proof on the manufacturer proving that product caused the failure. If you are waiting for the dealer to give you a letter, don't change a thing on your car to include aftermarket corner markers. What if those had an electrical surge.

Here is a place to start your research.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus...s_Warranty_Act

My dealer will install many aftermarket items and your warranty will be just fine. Can we debate for the next 5 pages if your warranty will be voided, sure. It has been done before.

Bottom line if you are worried about your warranty DO NOT do anything to your car to include make sure you get EVERY service done at a dealer because having an indy shop do your oil change could also potentially void your warranty.
