Porsche was extremely open. It was refreshing. We will share as much as possible.

I feel like I've been told I have a winning lottery ticket, and am now waiting to see what I won.

Thank you Rob and team for all of your efforts. I'll thank you more properly once we get the details!

[QUOTE=Manifold;14379954]I feel like I've been told I have a winning lottery ticket, and am now waiting to see what I won.

so well stated , 4L just kidding

but on second thought Porsche seems intent on Building a superior product and then stand behind to assure it's so ,as I hope they are soon to reveal to us !

so no gamble when buying P/GT car , pretty darn awesome .

This is just my opinion, but I think things went down like this at Porsche:

1. We sent a letter raising our concerns.
2. Porsche looked into the issues we raised.
3. They found that our concerns were valid.
4. They took the necessary steps to address the issue.

As a small business owner, I would do exactly the same thing. I am busy. I don't know everything that is going on at MyProgrammer. If something is brought to my attention, I am not going to ignore it. I will look into the issue, and then get back to the client. And if the client's concerns were valid, I will try to make things right. Porsche did exactly the same thing.

BTW, the whole vibe at Porsche felt like a family run operation. And never once did they ask us to sign an NDA. It is hard not to feel good about the company after this experience.

Rob,

I believe Porsche was well aware of this issue long before the genesis of COG, and I'm crediting a few long running threads on the topic (Macca behind one of the earlier threads IIRC), in addition to those who experienced the issues addressed and brought their car in for warranty service.

Thanks to your and members of COG, you were no doubt the catalyst for action.

I agree 100%. We may have been the catalyst, but what Macca did was huge.

Goes to show what these forums enable us to do together! I met a fellow 991 GT3 owner at the track this past weekend (the car has its third engine), and asked him if he follows RL. He said he hasn't looked at it in quite a while. I told him to take a look at the threads this week, because there have been important developments related to owner's concerns about the engine. For me, RL has been an essential part of the ownership experience.

A post describing our meeting with Porsche, and Porsche's official announcement will happen shortly. We gave Porsche an advance copy of our post (as a courtesy), but they have declined to review or comment on it, other than what they have provided in their official announcement.

Anything other than what is included in their official announcement is from the COG, not Porsche. Please keep that in mind.

It really is a disease. I wonder if it's covered by my HMO?
