Can confirm these guys are the real deal. If you want the purest modern driving experience, get an SLC... 2,500lbs, mid engine, no electronic aids, 500hp, sub $100k. There are guys doing S85 V10s and gated shifters too. This would have been my vote 5 years ago. The issue is cars have gotten so dang good these last 5 years. $100k will buy you a lot of car now but this is convincing still...
As to the OP, my vote would be 997 GT3 variant. Easily. It's perfect.
OK, so I may have decided.
I think I will get the new GT3 manual and keep the GT4. This means I will need a lift in the garage.
For now, I'll daily drive the M2 and when I retire in 2-3 years, I'll sell the M2 and daily drive the GT4. Long term value is really of little concern to me from a personal financial perspective as I assume the cars are worthless from day one. Furthermore, I would plan on keeping the GT4 and GT3 for 10 or more years.
Totally rational - right?
Brian
Agree- I may also keep my GT4. I think having both Manuals in my Garage would be a treat

I bought by GT3RS swearing I would sell my GT4. Turns out I can't bear to part with it. My daily is a 16 Cayenne GTS, but this way I take the RS and the GT4 to work at least once a week as well as weekend fun.
I thought I would be sick(bored) of it like I am with most cars after a year but the darn car just grows on you. Other than not being lightening fast it just does so many things so well. I even told my Wife after my afternoon drive yesterday that this might be the most fun car I have owned. And I have had Caymans, 997.2 Turbo, GT3, R8 V10. She said good--- now save your money and pass on the .2 GT3. Said no can do.

Agree Jimmy,
Your decision will be even more difficult when the gt4rs comes out. Especially if offered wth MT.
I will pass on 991gt3. Have my name down for gt2rs. Let's see how special it is and how much $$$$
