The wrong forum I know, but the most active these days, so the best place to accomplish what I want.
I have been friends with the Ruf's for 20 years and have had their cars in my collection that entire time. It has always been disappointing to me, on their behalf, that here in the U.S., they don't get more recognition and higher accolades for the incredible work that they do. People just don't realize that they are one of the only manufacturers (not tuners or retro/modifier firms) in the world which is independently owned and building totally bespoke cars.
Anyhow, they built for me one of the seven Turbo R Limited's that was introduced at Geneva last year. It arrived over the winter and I was finally able to take it out today. For old-school Porsches fans, it's a dream - a brand new air-cooled car utilizing all of today's technology. 624hp and weighs 1390kg with partial fluids. I just spent a couple of hours gently waking it up and I can tell that it's a masterpiece.
A huge thanks to Alois and Estonia for adding another incredible car to my collection. I hope that this project, the just announced Yellowbird 30 and others they have in the works finally brings them the audience here that they enjoy in Europe.
