Wraps on track cars?

Depending on the complexity of your design and the materials (eg. if you pick the glossy metallics, it will cost more), a well done wrap should be $3-4500K including quite a mix of "standard" series sponsor decals and some custom ones.
On our 458 we've always wrapped them (satin black), and religiously 3M'd the front end, headlights and tear offs on the windscreen. The 3M is a bit overkill but over time the 3M has proven tougher than vinyl for taking and absorbing the sandblast effects on the CF splitter and front end. OTOH, the 3M has also done a decent job of holding pieces together after minor contact
Last, using a wrap eliminates the needs to paint any replacement body panels should you ever need them

The 3M wraps though are not as expensive as the clear bra's since they are not as thick and I assume easier to work with.
Going price is around 5K for full wrap including all door jams and such, but also includes a clear bra for track setup meaning, Whole Front, Side Mirrors, Lower Rocker Panels, and a part of the Rear Fender.
Some places will even put custom decals on their for you as well for that price. My local guy has access to all the Porsche decals.
On a car like the GT3RS which is what I am considering doing this to, I think in the long run saving the paints condition will make it worth while.

Well funny turn of events for me...
Originally I was looking to buy a local GT3RS in Viola (Light Purple Metallic) and was going to wrap it because I was not really into the color.
The deal they were offering me was making me color blind but as we got closer to finalizing it I told myself I could not spend that much on a purple car I don't really like the color of.
A week went by as I was looking for another one in the colors I wanted and then ironically the local dealer reached out to me to let me know they had just picked up a Orange Lava one with only 200 miles so I bought it.
The Lava Orange I love and not going to wrap it for now (maybe in 6 month or a year), but I did have a clear bra put on it from Auto Armour here in San Diego.
