Won't you get hosed on depreciation and taxes for 3-4 months of ownership?

You have to let us know how it is, I keep wanting one..I was about to get one until this latest round of GT3 allocations which now has me distracted.

I think you will be shocked how incerdible the 570S is. You may never go back, so be forewarned. The exhaust needs work, aka AWE but that's it...

Interested to hear/follow your ownership experience as I keep wanting one but have test driven 4 low mileage cars now (would never buy a new one considering the depreciation hit they take in the first 12months) and all have had problems, mainly electrical.
And this long term ownership story from Autoexpress doesn't help.

So I need a positive ownership story to encourage me to jump.

Figure at least $15k to plate the car in Kalifornia and whatever goes to depreciation; unless there's another arrangement at work.

I sincerely apologize as it seems I mislead my internet friends. I thought by writing "trying it out for a minute" I'd be taken literally.. but I should have guessed that in this "baller" world of rennlist car collections, where people "pick up" cars while waiting for other cars on order to arrive.. I should have known better eh?
The car was loaned to me for a few days in the hopes that I become enamored, committed, and purchase it. As of yet, no money changed hands, and it's going back to its home shortly. Ita precisely because of the aforementioned tax issue that I don't change cars frequently.. and I can't understand how other do it actually, in a state like ours where there isn't a tax exchange on vehicles. No, I have a manual GT3 PTS coming soon and as I have very limited garage space in the city.. it's only one sports car at a time for me, as my daily plus a variety of motorcycles and other paraphernalia takes up the precious little space. I'm happy to wait patiently for it for my 9k rpm 6 speed German race car, and I'm lucky enough to have generous friends who invite me for track and road driving time which is enough to tide me over in the interim.
Regarding the 570s however... outside of sound.. I can't think of a more competent car for the price. I've had the fortune of tracking and driving p1 and 675LT extensively, and in comparison the base 570s feels like 70-80% of the car for 1/5 to 1/3 the money respectively. I had a p1 on loan for car week and yes, it's ballistic fast, but the same super stiff carbon chassis, and super torquey engine exists in this 570s as that $1m+ car. The active suspension from that hypercar is definitely missing, but calibration on the 570s is excellent and takes car of Northern California sh!thole roads with ease.
For direct & recent track comparison, this weekend I got to follow this man, a certain "Bruno Senna" around Sonoma Raceway while he was in an 570 and I was in a P1.. and his superior skills more than made up for any difference in performance... the 570 is an eminently competent supercar for well-optioned GT3 price. Maybe an LT version with better sound will be worth it? Maybe.. but today...
I didn't buy one, I like manual and NA and that's what I'll stick to for the foreseeable future.

It is a great car.
Tried one on the street and on the track. Still preferred my GT4 in both locations. While the 570S was better than the GT4, it wasn't twice the car. Although it was twice the price.

An acquaintance of mine just bought a 570GT. Looks awesome. Haven't had a chance to get his initial impressions yet. Hopefully this weekend.

I too have driven the 570S. An excellent car that felt extremely well built. Was not a fan of the brakes but maybe it just takes some time getting used to but my GT4 has PCCBs and have yet to drive another car with better brakes. I will only say that it is not a better car than my GT4 but a heck of a lot faster for sure. The 570S has warp speed but my GT4 sounds faster

I have been cruising the internet and saw some pretty good deals on 2016 650S Spyders with very low mileage. What am I missing??? Is there any thing tainted about this model?? Interesting findings
